You are talking bollocks, spun by the anti AVB fishwives. In the way that Barca struggle until Messi bails them out, Bayern until Roben bail them out ?

We invariably dominated games, dominated the ball and kept clocking up points. That's not struggling.
Well, you certainly have the credentials to understand what 'talking bollocks' is.

Yep, you're right, we breezed through every game and played orgasmic football and some of the best to ever be seen at the Lane. All those Bale goals (especially the last-minute ones) were signs that we were not struggling at all and the whole plan was to torture the opposition, creating many chances, and then, completely on purpose, allow Bale to score a screamer.

No struggle at all. Absolutely none whatsoever.

Lennon needs to go join Dawson at Hull to be free from BC's witch-hunting lol. :giggle:

.

Messi didn't bail Barca out: Barca played brilliant attacking football and Messi finished most of the chances (though plenty of others got in on the act). We didn't create chances for Bale: he created them for himself.

AVB did a decent job that season, and losing your most important player by far whilst having to integrate 7 new players, most of whom weren't your choices, is not ideal. But the bottom line is that his football was turgid, and, for the vast majority of us, dreadful to watch.

No not in that way at all. Thanks though.

Isn't that just a Brazilian Aaron Lennon
He's better technically than lennon and more physical. But in a conservative side lennon could do a solid job imo. We just know what he used to do and miss it. Lennon is a very good player to have in a squad.

They really don't. What he brought most weeks was insipidity. Just running up and down shadowing someone and never getting close enough to actually stop them passing or crossing isn't good enough. Nor is hiding from the ball when team mates desperately need an out ball, doing stupid little flicks to nobody instead of holding onto the ball because you scared you're going to get clattered.

The very next game after his decent 60 min against Everton he cat us the first and vital goal against Chelsea with his laziness.

Lennon has the odd very decent game and everyone hangs on to this for 20 more until the next decent game. His insipidity has cost us plenty of the last few years.
You have been banging this drum for years, even when he was performing. In the last 8 years he has been a consistent attacking threat and a key member of our most successful period in the league for a generation.

His performances have rightly earned him a place in our history. Not as a great player but as a very good one who has represented us with distinction on many occasions. Some of our best and most memorable performances have had lennon as a key part.

You can criticise as much as you like, he has earned our respect imo.

I din't say we were orgasmic or breezed through, hardly anybody does that. But we weren't constantly struggling either. From the end of November we were pretty organised, we played possession football and it was capped by our best forward scoring goals.

ManU under SAF were renowned for scoring late winners, as do Arsenal frequently, invariably after dominating possession in games. Often their star players scoring. That's just football, it's what decent teams often do when the opposition have spent all game trying to stop them scoring.

We did not beat any team easily and we found it difficult to score goals. To me, that's a struggle. Maybe we have different definitions of the word.

Barca were the most risk averse team in football history.

Yeah for sure we do. Try sitting through dvd's of the nineties and early 00's, or even any away game under Jol, it'll adjust your perception of struggle.

Hardly anyone beats anyone easily in this league.

If by "dominating games" you mean passed sideways whilst players walked about on the pitch, followed by a 90th minute Bale wonder strike to nab a draw or all three points, then I'd draw your attention to the 6-0 thrashing we suffered at the hands of Man City, when we dominated possession but funnily enough lost.

I liked AVB - really wanted him to succeed, he had passion and a vision but wasn't supported in the transfer market in the way he felt he could drive us on. However, I watched some of the worst football we've played in recent times under him and as much as I disliked Sherwood's media skills and obvious lack of any sort of tactical nous, breathed a sigh of relief when I saw us finally move up a gear after AVB left.

Back to the point of discussion (Lennon) - he tracks well and provides us width, but doesn't seem to quite fit the Pochettino style of a marauding front three behind a lone striker. But does give us an option of pace down the flanks but has always lacked a killer final ball.

You've been shagging two quite different birds and one too a little longer to suck your willy than the other but both give decent hand jobs.

Which one do you marry ?

I wouldn't want a bird to suck my dick; its small tongue- combined with its hard, pointy beak- would render the experience most unenjoyable.

I'm not sure why I bother really. I respond to your posts with reasoned arguments and all you ever do is ignore me or respond with this sort of nonsense. You don't debate because you can't.

I went for sardonic irony as I thought it would be kinder than telling you the truth.

You don't really want me to convince you with counter arguments, do you ?

Can people give Lamela until the end of the season to write him off. The fact is impatience is one of the worst traits of sports fans. What I see in Lamela are very brief sparks of genius and a lot of mistakes because he is trying to force things, if coached properly I think Lamela will be worth his price tag.

Had to laugh at this statement after reading your name;)
