We should go in for Tierney now just to show Woolwich they are our bitches now
We've been linked with Firpo, Sessegnon seems likely to happen, Davies has signed a new contract. All signs pointing to a Rose exit not that i'm in favour of it.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tierney is on that replacement list somewhere.

I don't think it is. I've just been catching up on the zaniolo thread and he said the young players name wasn't in the press a few weeks ago. This thread was already up and running by then.

Bit of a long shot, but perhaps he purposefully threw us off the scent due to the sensitive nature of the deal.

Either that or we opportunistically decided to dive in at the last moment, hence the lack of ITK. Having said that is seems unlikely that we'd be pushing hard for ANOTHER expensive youngster, in addition to Saliba, Lo Celso, Sessegnon and perhaps Ceballos. As much as I'd love it, I doubt we'd spend quite that big.

It’s a tired debate. There’s too much history of great right footed CBs in football who have played on the left side for me (or possibly anyone else aside from yourself) to really give a shit.
Oh Ledley Ledley

Val suggested that the player in question was well under 21. It wouldn't surprise me if it was a 16 year old that we wouldn't have to pay a major fee for. Barcelona signed a 16 year old from West Brom recently, Bayern are signing a 16 year old from Celtic, Liverpool have signed 16 YO Harvey Elliott from Fulham. We must be looking at players of this age and Hercules didn't even know who the player was when he posted the info.

I've been of the opinion that we had money ready to spend due to the already agreed loan/overdraft facility drawn on the stadium build. I then assumed we'd pay back some of the outlay with player sales, thus allowing us to do our buying first without waiting on last minute sales to go through. But as you say, the potential spending that we are linked with doing (and strongly linked with doing) does seem potentially much higher than expected. Perhaps though things have shifted behind the scenes ? Maybe a stadium sponsorship deal has been landed that is bigger than expected ? Maybe the revenue from the few games at our new ground and subsequent booked events for 'other' stadium use is higher than first thought & altered our budget projections ? Maybe Poch and Levy have seen United,Arsenal and Chelsea all hampered with recruitment this summer and they've hatched a plan to spend big now, then have a quiet 2020 summer window ??? Wishful thinking perhaps but plausible that at least one of those scenarios has happened ?

He was clearly referring to Mouras kid. He's already had a kick about on the new pitch and now has a taste for it.

There is an Irish kid we are looking at (apparently) 15 years old. Plays for Linfield.
