You’ve created a list of all Arsenal’s embarrassing moments this summer and left out the newly formed ‘Ashburton Army’.

Shame on you......

Fucking hell, a protest march? Saliba needs his head checking if he choses to go to that shit show of a club over us :ROFLMAO:

Popped over to an ASSE forum and translated a bit. They seem very happy that we got involved.

And our leaders who were ready to accept this miserable offer of Arsenal. Tottenham saves us from the scam.
---
At the same time if there were no other offers.
---
If we consider that 30M is a bad offer ..
---
The future central defender of the France team, already more talented than anyone in his position, only 18 years old and we should sell him 27 million poor staggered payment to the most stingy club in England.

At a time when any lambda player leaves for the English for astronomical sums. These same English clubs who are armored with money, two final European Cup with 100% of English clubs must be remembered.

It is not because we have never made a transfer as big as it is necessary to play small arms. You have to live with your time.

---
What is your source for believing that we would sell immediately to Arsenal?

Obviously it is dry your source since we have not sold yet .... And that other offers arrive.

---
My source? A can 99% of the information we have on this transfer in recent weeks speaks of an imminent departure for 27M, an agreement with the player and all the trimmings. I am very happy that a new offer is coming. But did you know from the beginning that our leaders were going to wait for the Spurs offer at the last minute?

I think you are the only one who thought there would be only one club on Saliba . Still, believe Romeyer so naive when there is so much wheat to recover .... We must live with his time!

Also, this is the best post after translation... I don't understand half of it:

The Spurs is pretty cool. The stadium is alive and the club surely more ambitious than the gunners and their sea urchins in the pockets.
Pochettino and more is a charismatic coach and is on the offensive.
William might be tempted.

And we get Janssen in nine and Moussa Sissoko in def.

Tottenham attempt to hijack Arsenal's £27m move for young French defender William Saliba

Tottenham Hotspur are trying to stage a sensational last-minute hijacking of Arsenal’s move for French teenager William Saliba.

Arsenal were this week on the verge of completing a deal for the 18-year-old, who is seen as one of the most exciting young talents in France, after agreeing a fee of around £27 million with Saint-Etienne.

Part of the agreement was that Saliba would return to France on loan for the upcoming season, meaning that Arsenal could pay the transfer fee in staggered payments instead of using a sizeable chunk of their budget for this summer’s window.

The Daily Telegraph understands that, as of Tuesday evening, only small details were left to be agreed between the two clubs before the transfer was officially finalised.

But now Tottenham have made a late approach for the player and, according to reports in France, have shown a willingness to outbid their north London rivals with talks scheduled for this weekend.

Tottenham are able to spend more money this summer thanks to their qualification for next season’s Champions League, their run to last season’s Champions League final and their lack of signings in previous transfer windows.

Their dramatic late entry into the process has been further complicated by Arsenal’s executive team flying to the United States for the club’s pre-season tour. Head of football Raul Sanllehi and new technical director Edu were among those who travelled to Los Angeles on Thursday.

Tottenham have already completed two deals in this transfer window, signing Leeds United winger Jack Clarke for around £10m before agreeing a club-record deal of around £55m with Lyon for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

They are in the market for a long-term solution at centre-back with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen both coming towards the end of their spells in north London.

If Arsenal were to fail to complete the move for Saliba, after progressing this far in their discussions with Saint-Etienne, it would be seen as an embarrassment for the club and a major coup for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

It comes barely 24 hours after Arsenal’s pre-season preparations were rocked by the refusal of club captain Laurent Koscielny to board the plane to the USA. Koscielny is desperate to return to France this summer and is trying to force Arsenal into agreeing to allow him to leave the club for free, despite still having one year remaining on his current contract.

Due to their financial restrictions, which stem largely from their bloated wage bill and inability to qualify for the upcoming Champions League season, Arsenal simply cannot afford to allow assets to leave the club for free. They have begun disciplinary proceedings against Koscielny, who will almost certainly lose the captaincy.

None of this will mean anything if he still wants the goons.

They do have a particularly strong appeal to French players
Maybe but Ndombele (one of France's most sought after players) is now one of ours and waxed lyrical about us. At the end of the day he'll do what's best for his career. If Arsenal are not sounding too convincing, especially as their French captain wants out and ESPECIALLY as they are a mess off the field and have too many cooks then he may feel the French connection means nothing

I've literally only seen a few clips on YouTube and researched his fifa potential (88 rated potential, btw), but I'm a bit confused why some of the 'mega clubs' like City, PSG, Bayern, Madrid, Barcelona etc haven't come in for him if he's half as good as those St Etienne fans are saying?

No idea. Never seen him play and I haven't even watched a compilation. Just went to their forum because I wanted to know if they were laughing or crying.

I think it would make sense though.

Makes sense with Herc’s info about other London clubs, and in my eyes 18 is “well under 21”.

Like others I’d be happy to keep Toby for another year, see him go on a free and bring this kid through next year with another year’s experience on loan at his current club.

Alternatively maybe the Roma interest is real, and the cut price thing is true too and they end up loaning him back to us this season as a returned favour for letting them have him for the cut price ?‍♂️ It seems unlikely but I suppose it’s possible meaning we can get another year out of him and make sure he doesn’t go to another PL club whilst they have to only wait another year and get him cheaper than others meaning when he goes Saliba will arrive a year older and mor experienced

Think he also said something along the lines of "we're being quoted £25m for 18 year olds"

He is shit on FM19 btw. :) And seriously on that question, weird market I think. For example for Jović was only Real, only Barcelona for Griezmann etc. You can't say that they are not good because only one club seriously wanted him.

First off, City and PSG are not mega-clubs. They are lottery winners. Next, those teams with the kind of wonga that they have can buy the very best, established players. No need to purchase 'potential'.
