The thread from 10 years ago that someone bumped earlier talking about how our young players like Lennon, Defoe, Dawson and Robinson were regressing under Jol got me thinking, which players from our history would you have liked to have seen under Pochettino's guidance?
His coaching and development of players has been undoubtably his biggest success. The majority of our fan base was furious when Danny Rose was given a new contract but last season he was arguably the best full-back in the league, and Walker also massively improved in the last two seasons. Dembele's career was nosediving under Sherwood but he has become an absolute monster under Poch. And of course, that young, awkward looking striker from our youth team that most of us wrote off as the next Jamie Slabber has now won two golden boots in a row.
With that in mind, which players from our teams before the Poch era do you think would have been significantly better with him here?
I'll start with one - Stephen Carr. I know he was arguably the best RB in the league at one point, but the way Poch has developed full-backs over the years (Luke Shaw looked like the next Bale under him), I wonder if he could really have reached that elite level if he'd been coached by him in his peak years instead of Francis, Gross and Graham. He could have been awesome as a wing back as part of Poch's 3-4-2-1.
