Even Deeney is whinging now.

"What frustrated me was seeing ten people running around the ref screaming for Nathan to be sent off.

I lpoked at them and thought Apparently we are little Watford and you're supposed to be running all over us so why do you need a man sent off. But each to their own"

The bitterness is strong in this one.

He should stick to kicking the shit out of students. He's proving with that statement that that's about his intelligence level.

So in 11 seasons we finished above them 3 times. And yet they're insignificant.
And yet when Liverpool fans, who have finished below us mostly for the last 7 years call us insignificant we're up in arms?

What about the season we finished fourth and they did the CL. Doesn't that make it 4 times out of 11?

No because I'm talking entirely pre Abramovic premier league era?
You know, the time when people claim chelsea didn't exist even though we didn't beat them in about 20 years and finished below them most of the time.

From 1992 to when Abramovic took over in 2003 how many times did we;
Win a trophy compared to them
Finish above them in the premier league

I see this argument put out quite a lot... Chelsea spent ridiculous amounts of money from about 96 onwards which put them in a complete financial mess by the time Roman saved them..
Zola Vialli CasiraghI Gullit etc weren't there for Chelsea's illustrious history.. during that period before roman they did have some moderate success but was entirely down to overspending.. they did a Leeds but won the lottery with the Russian money..

And I have no issue with that at all. I'm not a 'told you so' type, nothing would please me more than you being correct in your reading.

My point though is not being 'right' in a prediction, it's being realistic in the current state of play. And people are overplaying our hand in the here and now, and it's just makes us look silly. Talk of having already overtaken Utd in appeal is just Mind the Gap mark 2.

I guess I just wish we could be a bit better than other team's fans but reality is all clubs are the same, with the same mix of the logical, hopeful and irrational making up their number

Nail on head with the last paragraph.

Except for Liverpool fans, not a single Vulcan amongst the lot of them

That is true but what hasn't been mentioned is the fact that the artificial bankrolling of Chelsea started long before abramovic. Bates was overspending for years and essentially bankrupted them in the process. Any long term measurement of the size and success of Chelsea needs to look pre-bates. They were an insignificant yo yo club about the size of West ham.

As people have mentioned, it has taken them nearly a quarter of a century buying success to overtake us. If things continue as they are for us we have the potential to surpass them easily within a decade.

How can anybody, especially an Englishman, hate Harry Kane?!
The best bit about that is the "and people wonder why I hate the England team" Do people wonder? Is it really a conundrum that people are trying to figure out? Do they sit at home thinking, I just can't work out why Gary hates the England team.

It's all relative though. I bet we out spent them in every aspect up until the 80's?

Irving.
Scholar.

Some of us have incredibly selective memories when it comes to slagging other clubs off.
