Some utterly bizarre readings of the game from the Watford lot. Quite happy that they think we're dirty because it means we successfully fought fire with fire, which really shows how far this squad has come. Presumably they expected us to roll over to their style of 'football' and let them tickle our bellies? Long may it continue.

I've left this alone and intend to going forward as it's just not going anywhere

But it's hard to not reply to this post.I fail to see why it's any more "irrelevant" than anyone else's view? There is no contrary evidence other than a Kane quote that many players who have left have also said. It's not more compelling, it's something that people are choosing to believe. Which is fine but to be silenced over it is frankly a bit scary.

I've never said his move was impending. I simply answered a rather silly question of why Kane would move to Utd. Even when supposedly in disarray, there's loads of reasons. That was it really. The question was never would Levy sell. It then became increasingly caveated by people who wouldn't have it and it escalated. I got a bit pissy, sure, but I'm not surprised with some of the responses I got

"Your facts may be accurate". Yes they are. That used to be important to an argument but it seems now that it has to be wishful thinking and I don't play that game, sorry

This isn't a game mate, just a debate. You've offered an argument and I've countered it, that's all.

I believe I'm right, you believe the same. That's cool as both of us are speculating. Should you prove to be correct then feel free to say I told you so, I'll accept that in good grace, it's nice to be right but it's really not that important.

What I will say though is that, whilst facts are always important, they're not always pertinent, particularly if certain circumstances have changed. That is the fundamental difference between our two arguments. You believe they haven't, I believe they have and significantly. Only time will reveal which of us is correct.

So chill out mate, you put up a good argument, it just happens that I don't agree with it.

It happens

And I have no issue with that at all. I'm not a 'told you so' type, nothing would please me more than you being correct in your reading.

My point though is not being 'right' in a prediction, it's being realistic in the current state of play. And people are overplaying our hand in the here and now, and it's just makes us look silly. Talk of having already overtaken Utd in appeal is just Mind the Gap mark 2.

I guess I just wish we could be a bit better than other team's fans but reality is all clubs are the same, with the same mix of the logical, hopeful and irrational making up their number

Nothing being said by the toffees.
Found this 1 though.

If I didn't have a season ticket I would probably swerve this match, I really don't fancy us to concede less than 3 against Spurs

Spurs are the limbo London club and that is why in my opinion we get smaller London based teams like West Ham and Watford claiming they hate us and that we're rivals to them.

Tottenham for the most part has really been third in the London hierarchy, behind Arsenal and Chelsea but in front of Palace, Watford, West Ham, QPR etc. It is only in the past 5/6 years that we have made a push towards Arsenal and Chelsea, I still think they're better than us, but we have made up significant ground against them for sure.

I guess smaller London teams declare us as a rival because we're the closest thing that can match their ambition.

If the 'most part' refers to the past 20 years then you are right - before that in the 'most part' we and the gooners have been the top 2 sides on London'

You must be a WUM.

Chelsea have won 15 trophies in the last 10 years and have still only just taken over us as the fourth most successful club in Britain. Prior to being financed by corrupt Russian money, they were a total and utter irrelevancy and had more in common with Watford than they did Tottenham.

Tottenham are traditionally one of Britain's elite footballing institutions. The first to win the double, the first to win European silverware from England, the only amateur side to win the Cup, the only side to win the title following promotion - a Rolls Royce of English football. Don't taint such a name by comparing us with a new money bollocks football club that counted Kerry Dixon as one of its legends before some bored Russian fancied throwing pennies at something.

Even Deeney is whinging now.

"What frustrated me was seeing ten people running around the ref screaming for Nathan to be sent off.

I lpoked at them and thought Apparently we are little Watford and you're supposed to be running all over us so why do you need a man sent off. But each to their own"

The bitterness is strong in this one.
But he doesn't seem to be saying that he shouldn't have been sent off so what is he complaining for, as captain he should be having a go at his player for the assault and getting the red card.

I thought it was obvious from the tone of my comment that I was referring to modern day, the last 15-20 year, but apologies if not. Unfortunately I am too young to recall the glory, glory days in anything apart from documentaries.

Afraid that one's not right mate.

Ipswich won the second division in 1960-61 and the first division in 1961-62.
Nottingham Forest finished 3rd in the second division in 1976-77 and won the league in 1977-78.

Probably not the right thread for this as it's about opponent fan but as per above argument here is my breakdown of our London 'rivals', we all have our own take I guess.

Arsenal: hard to admit but the largest club in London in prime real estate territory. Our modern rivalry is due to location but historically Arsenal are the biggest sellouts in London, they dumped their history and fan base to leave Woolwich for the money of North central London. They have as much to do with North London as we do with Hammersmith, a franchise team. Henry Norris the chairman who morally bankrupted them also bunged us to go down, Arsenal who have not been relegated since are the only team in the top flight not to earn their place in this division. So we have reasons to dislike them more than any other team.

West Ham: previous decades not really our rival but now West Ham are an established Prem side and Millwall well are not, its natural to seek a rival and we are nearest. I think most Spurs fans only cared about this rivalry 5-10 years ago. Growing up in West Ham supporting area it was very much a one way hate for the most part.

Chelsea: before Russian money they had bit of a run when Hoddle was manager but about West Ham's size as a club. Our rivalry is due mainly to their neo-nazi fan base and our apparent Jewish connections, even now they spew anti-Semitic bile at games. Maybe being harsh but have never really understood our rivalry other than that aspect and I have heard some pretty bad things when Chelsea have visited the Lane.

Crystal Palace: no big rivalry.

Charlton: no big rivalry.

Millwall: they are rivals to everyone but don't think most Spurs fans care.

QPR: no big rivalry

Fulham: no big rivalry

Watford: like West Ham looking for a rival in this league, bunch of dirty pulis style players if you ask me, the league bully without style.
