Signed a few Man City youngsters, Joe Aribo from Rangers who looks fairly decent and a 19 year old striker from Bordeaux. They've gone all-in on youth this summer so doubt their signings will have a huge impact off the bat.

In pre-season they've changed formation to a back 5 and apparently have been tighter defensively but struggled a lot going forward. They've won 1, drawn 2 and lost 2 so certainly not had a great one results-wise (not that it really matters).

They should really be there for the taking tbh. Need to win this one.

Part of me is sceptical, i guess. But that's more to do with what we've been used to in the past. Let's not forget, Conte came in mid season and we were a shambles. Even the last quarter of the season we kept hearing that we'd definitely blown 4th place now etc. From Christmas, we had the 2nd/3rd? best results. Not bad considering. This season, Conte has his players in, full pre-season, and he'd already gotten us playing the way he wants us to towards the end of last season. The coach is everything. It's why I don't think Arse - despite signing some good players - will do as well as last year, they don't have an elite manager. Plus last year, they only had the league to focus on.

Didn't people banter us at the start of last season with "How do you spend 100m without improving your first team"?

Looking at Sp**s starting 11 they have 3 cbs ( Dier, Davies, Romero) and two wing backs ( Royal and Sessegnon). Not single one of them would come close to starting for us, how the hell did they finish above us?

This team is totally average, and Conte won't change that.

Front three is good but the rest are painfully mid.

Big teams look to control matches, always.

That team finished above us.

I would take Son though, but i think overall we have the better squad.

Kane, Son and Romero walk into our team mate. even Kulusevski. Stop overrating our players.

Romero starts where ahead of Gabriel? No Saliba? No White? Maybe Let him play in back 4 first And Saka is miles ahead of kulu. Only son and Kane that's about it because our team lack that.

Kulu would have been the perfect RW for us, especially as Gunenr Fan. Shame he hasn't waited some months

How can you guys watch Sp**s vs opposition they usually beat while at home? Their football is crap and the hope of watching them lose vs the reality of them winning easily isn't worth it.

SA_Gunner - Of course I want them to lose, but I also watch to see what makes Conte an elite manager there. Spoiler alert... there is nothing. He has brought in some more agressive pressing when wanting to get the advantage, but other than that... he has them playing like a small team.

Pretty quick comeback from the title contenders, I wonder if our current version can finally do something like that.

Kulusevski is always been good player but if we bought him we'd play him LW not sure he'd he successful there his best position is RW since parma days and no way you drop generational talent as saka. He chose the right team and system imo.

I still don't understand the gooners not rating Romero. Saliba was good last night, but neither Gabriel nor White are as good as Romero. In fact those two were a glaring weakness in the Arsenal side against Palace, both making mistakes (albeit White was being played at RB).

Partey and Xhaka are not levels above any of our four CMs. Up until the moment we signed him, they'd have benched either of those two for Bissouma.

Kane > Jesus
Son > Martinelli
Deki > Saka - I'd also say that Kulusevski is well ahead of Saka. Deki is physically much stronger and has more of an end product.
