After back-to-back 8th place finishes, their 5th place this season does look like a decent improvement on the face of it. They've benefitted enormously from having no European football though, and I expect their paper-thin squad will suffer considerably with the Thursday-Sunday grind next season.

Yep, I think 6th is the best they can hope for. They're way short of the top 4, and Toon plus Utd may well give them problems. Then who knows...
