Unfortunately the bastards have got perhaps the best back 5 in world football. Allison and VVD are worth about 15 pts and their fullbacks got 25 assists last season which is truly insane.

If we get Lo Celso and keep Eriksen, I'd say we at least match them in midfield, and will surpass them if Ndombele proves to be a hit.

Up front I'd say their first choice 3 is more consistently lethal than ours, but we have far better strength in depth.

Overall their first 11 is better than ours but I think an injury crisis would hit them harder. Their fullbacks are miles ahead of ours and that's the obvious area we need to strengthen to catch them up.

Agree with most of that, but if we do get Lo Celso and keep Eriksen, then I think our midfield is far superior to theirs, I don't think one of theirs gets into ours. Midfield is definitely their weakest area.

Having said that Danny Murphy said they were miles better than us on Talkshite this morning and we had no chance of catching them so we may as well not bother.

Surely they won’t have another season like last year with regards to injuries.

A couple of nice, long lay offs to VVD, Salah and Mane before Xmas would be lovely.

You've gotta think so. It was part of what made City's run impressive when you think of the fact that KDB had all his injuries. You get an injury to Salah or VVD for 'Pool and it'll show a lot more.

I think with the additions it sounds like we're getting I'd still say 'Pool have a better squad but it's not a guaranteed/set in stone thing.

All their front three won't have had a rest this summer with deep runs in the Africa Cup of Nations and Copa America. Don't be surprised to see them pick up more muscle injuries than last year. In many ways they'll be getting a small dose of what we had to put up with last year with our WC nightmare at the start of the season. Klopp's already started whinging about tired players in his pre-season. It could be a very significant factor.

Yeah it’s hard to say. Need to see how our new signings adapt and see where both teams are at at them end of the season.

From Arsemania. There's some good stuff here, but the pick of the bunch is that apparently finishing behind us and being in a less prestigious final means they had the better season.

This overhyping of Sp**s needs to stop, seriously, it's getting ridiculous.

Poch has been doing a great job and they've got a very good squad with several players I'd like to have here, but they aren't all that. A lot of their hype comes from us doing a lot of bad stuff recently, but a good window now and their targets not flying high is all that's needed and basically means powers turned.

Also, there is no foundation to suggest they've been superior as of late. Last PL season was rather a showcase that we catched up. We had the better season, end off. They had more lucky and dirty wins and we convincingly bettered them in both games, something we haven't done before for some time.

Their CL final was the biggest joke ever. Such a fluke.

Poch is great, Son, Kane, Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Eriksen are very good players, but also getting older.

Our youth is the best in the country current imo and we've got a better management now.
Don't exaggerate constantly.

Shit what are we going to do in 5-7 years time when Kane, Son and Eriksen are passed it, I hope Poch has addressed our rapidly ageing squad issues :ROFLMAO:

You weren't on here when Leicester won the league then, the PED conspiracies were hilarious.
Some still peddle that myth. It's mental really.

As for the gooners, its a delicious cocktail of delusion and denial.

Who cares about them - they’re an irrelevance!

From RAWK...

I know they had a bloody good season, only losing 1 league game and winning the CL but the way they go on you'd think they have been dominating English and world football for the last decade.
They earned that right to say they are better than us, they have been better than us for the last two seasons

We are catching up to them(dont say we finished above them 2 seasons ago because that's like saying Chelsea are better than us, its not true, they like us had a CL final and didnt turn on the final PL game)

That said we are looking to make the right signings to catch up to them, they have the benefit of a first 11 playing a season together whilst we may lose 4 players in (trippier, Rose, Alderwiereld and Eriksen)

I dont think we have any excuses this year. We have spent money, we have no injuries, full pre season and full rest, we have our stadium and no distractions anywhere.

Man Shitty - players yet to come back but strong
Liverscum - i think they wont be as strong as last season and few players yet to come back
Chelscum - rookie manager and lost their star
Manure - could do something but in reality i think they will have a few struggles but wont be as bad as last year
Arse - haha lol
Leicester - will be a dark horse as are Wolves

Is that to say if we dont win the league is it a failure? no but we have a great chance particularly if we add the two or three and keep Toby and CE.

Chrystal Meth Mike has got a voice again. If only his mum knew what he did behind his bedroom door when he getd back from school.

THFC 4th pos. AFC 5th Position
THFC CL finalists. AFC EL finalist.

Easy to see how he can say that they had a better season.

And the rest if his arguments are based on bias one sided "if" arguments.

Forget about the team he supports, that mentality is a prime example in the advocation for chemical castration. Should never be allowed to contribute to mankind's gene pool.

Tbh I think its Citys to lose, hopefully we won't have as many injuries as last year so it'd be nice if the top 4 fight wasn't so tight this year....but its in no way a failure if we don't win it imo.
