Martin Jol was fired because he bottled it once, then had a terrible start to the next season, but recovered to finish 5th, then had another terrible start to the next season.

Comparing the situations Jol and Redknapp faced is like comparing cock with bollocks.

pablo, the whole Jol saga has been done to death on here and i have no intention of going into that. i merely mentioned Jol because before the season started Jol was in the firing line for not getting 4th in the previous season. but hey you are entitled to your opinion and i mean no sarcasm in that. for me i would like to see redknapp gone as he was ready to leave when he thought he was being considered for the FA job. I'm at the point where 4th is no longer deemed a success where Spurs are concerned. the FA Cup and 3rd would have been considered a step in the right direction.

Jol had a couple of very poor starts to season, Redknapp has had a couple of shocking ends to seasons, hardly light years apart. You could also argue that Jol had an inferior squad at a time when United, the chavs and goons were all much stronger than currently.

You could yes, but it still to this day wouldn't be true. No matter how many times people say it.

Anyway, Jol is long gone, it's irrelevant to this discussion, I'm not defending Harry, I just don't share the romantic view of Martin Jol that some do.

I reckon he's glad/relieved he doesn't have to search for a new manager.

I have to assume he drew up a short list in the event of Harry leaving so maybe he's tossing up whether to proceed with that list or stick with Harry, either way they have to deal with the Modric question.

Levy is thinking that he/we don't want to miss out on a potential £30m again, or in other words £60m as it would be 2 seasons running our total collapse in form has cost us. He forgave it once, will he a second time....?

We still have a chance to get into the C-League so IMO that will go towards deciding the fate of Redknapp. I think he should be sacked but this has to be as much a business decision. If we sack him and have to pay compo then that will also harm our Stadium ambitions as well as not having extra revenue from C-League. So I think if we fail to get C-League he will be kept one more season

Levy has always struck me as quite pragmatic. He won't get rid of 'Arry unless he has someone better lined up.

After wins against Blackburn and Bolton Levy thinks :

The upturn in Spurs' fortunes has coincided with Redknapp's links with the England job coming to an end and he will be delighted that the season still has hope after a demoralising period.

Incredible how many so called Spurs fans on here, particularly the younger generation, have expectations way beyond our capabilities. Calm down ladies we still need a couple more adjustments (world class striker and C.D.) before we're the finished article

Even if we get CL and Redknapp stays we need to do something to freshen things up and push on.

I'd suggest a DoF and either (or both) a technical or a sports science coach. They would compensate for Redknapp's 3 big weaknesses (transfers, tactics and fitness).

He's thinking that he's glad he has a positive outlook on life. That it's stopped raining for a few hours. That he has a goldfish that's alive. And that the world will continue to spin on its axis for at least another 24 hours. He's thinking how nice it is - and how good it feels - to think the best in even the direst of circumstances.

Dan Levy is thinking.....I need a conference with Dan Ashcroft and Spursking, they will tell me about scouting, tactics and team building.
