We have talked a great deal about whether we should keep Harry as our manager and also about our summer targets. I am wondering what people believe our chairman is thinking is the best thing to do for Spurs?

He's was probably expecting Harry to go with a nice little pay off from the FA.

I'm sure he had someone in mind so it's possible Harry may go this summer.

I am sure he has plan b following Roy appointment and the recent poor results we will have to wait and see.

Whether its Harry leaving or something else, I think the fans just want to see some decisive action either in terms of players and/or manager etc...

And see it earlier than normal as our season starts have been affected by our pre-season indecision.

I suspect he's thinking that if we qualify for the Champions League there are a few players that would join (and maybe a few that would stay) based entirely on the appeal of working with Harry.

If we don't qualify for the Champions League I imagine Levy would re-assess his options based on who is available.

He's probably also thinking that with some thicker glasses he could do a passable imitation of Eddie Hitler.

my guess is that he will be thinking about what players we could afford to buy based on qualifying for the CL or not and he will probably be feeling relieved that the England debacle is over.

I think he is trying to work on a comprimise deal so Harry can save face with some compo and agree a "by mutual agrreement" parting of the waves.and quickly!

I think at the last count about 65% of us wanted Harry gone at the end of the season. Will Levy feel the same way or think it could be damaging to do that?

Levy is having to go round in circles, and going mad with the constant changes  :

  • In January/February the question was which and how many top players could he get in the summer TW - and an early start on talking to players because we were 3rd with a nice big lead
  • 'arry gets gis trial over and immediately starts talking about the England job which has become vacant - Levy starts to look at new managers for a CL campaign next season
  • Spurs nosedive - Levy continues to talk to new managers but has to downgrade his player list and start a second list of players in case we are in Europa League
  • After QPR debacle, Levy starts a 3rd list of players in case Spurs are not in Europe at all
  • Hodgeson appointed. Redknapp starts talking about Spurs again. Levy has to cool talking to other managers whilst he thinks about it
  • Now - Levy has to sweat it out for the remaining matches to see where we end up - but Levy starts talking to a short list of top players that we might get in (eg Ajax captain), knowing that if we are not in CL they may go elsewhere. <Meanwhile rehearses conversation(s) he may need to have with 'arry in a couple of weeks time.

one way or another, i am hoping he is thinking of "parting" ways with Harry. particularly if harry does not have us in the CL next season. is this not the reason that Jol was fired. we needed a manager who could get us Cl football. i was looking forward to David Moyes coming to Spurs. if we do get Cl football i would still like Harry to go. there is no forgiving the slump we have suffered. the idiot cannot use his full squad and deserves to lose his job for just that.

"Bugger".

He has definitely got some thinking to do. I'm sure he will have sounded out new managers in some way, shape or form. Probably with Harry knowing it was going on too, especially if he thought he was still in the running for the England job.

If I know Levy's plans, and I don't, I'd say he's probably a little peeved his next big evolution has been cut short, a little peeved that Harry considered us as his plan B last week, but now wants us to consider him plan A again and a little peeved with the F.A. for being just as helpful with the England manager situation as they always seem to be with everything else.

For all that goes on though with us, you've got to hand it to Levy. Our new stadium, the Olympic stadium, the new training facilities, Modric, the CL uncertainty, the England Manager etc., he's had a lot on his plate over the last year or two and yet we're still a club doing well both on and off the pitch, with a reputation starting to match it on both sides too.

If I were Levy, I'd be having slight doubts about Harry, but willing to give him another year after what he's done so far. I'd also be taking him for a chat and telling him any kind of talk regarding Modric or anyone else sounding sympathetic/understandable/feel for the boy bollocks about potential transfers out of the club would end in immediate dismissal. You're never going to shut Harry up completely, but he does need a few hard rules about the way he talks sometimes.

I'm sure that he's thinking, if Harry stays to see out his last year that he's not going to spend big on players.

We need a decision as soon as the season is over whether Harry is to sign an extention on his contract or not. I don't believe that DL will spend big money until he has a manager installed, at least for the medium term, whether that be Harry or someone else.

Martin Jol was fired because he bottled it once, then had a terrible start to the next season, but recovered to finish 5th, then had another terrible start to the next season.

Comparing the situations Jol and Redknapp faced is like comparing cock with bollocks.

Jol had a couple of very poor starts to season, Redknapp has had a couple of shocking ends to seasons, hardly light years apart. You could also argue that Jol had an inferior squad at a time when United, the chavs and goons were all much stronger than currently.
