I’ve tried to be as fair as I can about how I view our chances vs Arsenal’s in this top 4 race.

Arsenal
Palace A-1
Brighton H-3
Southampton A-3
Chelsea A-0
United H-1
West Ham A-1 Leeds H-3
Newcastle A-3
Everton H-3
Tottenham A-0
Final total- 72 pts

Tottenham
Newcastle H-3
Villa A-1
Brighton H-3
Brentford A-3
Leicester H-3
Liverpool A-0
Burnley H-3
Norwich A-3
Arsenal H-3
Final total-73 pts

This is going to the wire and will more than likely come down to the NLD. I think we have just as much chance of dropping points away to Villa as they do away to Palace, so I’ve given us both a draw there. I really wouldn’t put it past us to win our next 5 though, I think we’ve turned a big corner in how we are playing and we are creating chance after chance every match while looking good in midfield (consistency will improve even more with Skipp’s return and having 3 quality options) and solid at the back. I think where Arsenal will most likely slip up is I think they’ll lose to Chelsea and won’t have the squad depth to deal with United 3 days later and will drop more points there, while West Ham will need the points to get back into Europe next season when Arsenal travel to the London stadium. Moyes isn’t dumb enough to put all his eggs into the Europa league basket with Barcelona still in the competition, they would be heavy heavy underdogs in a fixture like that. One more thing is I also think we have a chance of grabbing a decent result away at Anfield due to them very likely just coming off the back of a CL semi final second leg vs Bayern 3 days before, I’ve listed that as a loss though, as us going unbeaten for the rest of the season is unlikely. That is the only match left this season for us where we aren’t favourites though, whereas Arsenal have games like Chelsea and Tottenham away, United home and West Ham away where it’s anyone’s guess really considering Arsenal’s poor squad depth to deal with those games in a short period of time, along with tough away trips to Palace, Southampton and Newcastle who are looking much better recently, especially at Home.

We can definitely do this guys. Fixtures are heavily in our favour when you take into account all their toughest ones come thick and fast in a one week period and our toughest one against Liverpool will be made significantly easier due to them probably coming off the back of a gruelling battle with Bayern. The north London derby at WHL is going to be electric!

Fair? You have us dropping 4 points! ? I would love that to happen, it would be a ridiculous run. But we'll drop more than 4 points, it'll be close, but I can't see us overtaking the goons

5 points actually but don’t take it too literally, I’ve basically just given what I think is the most likely outcome of each match. Yeah we will probably drop more points than that but I’ve been favourable to Arsenal and given them wins in a lot of tough fixtures. The general gist is this is going to the wire. The only results I’ve predicted that are different to the reverse fixture earlier in the season are a win vs Burnley at home and a win vs Arsenal at home, we won all of the reverse fixtures other than those 2, on far poorer form I might add. We drew against a depleted Liverpool side, which won’t be the case this time but at the very least they will be more tired and far less prepared for this upcoming fixture

I am probably having blind faith, but it’ll be much, much harder for Newcastle to do what the other two doped clubs did.

The longer it takes them, the more chance things could go a bit sour. They have nowhere near the fan base outside their little northern city of the other top clubs.

We still have a chance to establish ourselves a little bit more than we are before they are a real force. I don’t see them getting top 6 next season
I don't think it will take them long obviously Howe won't be the manager to get them there.
The only thing that might cause them problems is expectations as they get better the fans and the board will want more and more.
But despite that they will be past us in the next couple of years and it won't be long until they get their ESL invite.

I think we'll beat Arsenal in the NLD and they'll drop more points than us in their run in than us, leading to us overtaking them for 4th. They are far less convincing of a team than the media has given them credit for. They've had a favorable run of games and have not looked well in control of a single match in 2022 barring Leicester imo. I thought Villa (Watkins and Bertrand in particular) was wasteful against them last match and deserved a point. Game changed when they brought Ings on but it was too late.

You can realistically see them dropping points against the following:
Palace (good form)
Brighton (I think they'll be more stable after the break. They should have Webster back, who is massive for them and will allow them to revert to Potter's 3-4-3 which Arsenal could struggle to break down)
Southampton (No slouch of a team.. Bad form of late but Ralf can get them playing good football on their day.. have taken points from City, United, us (twice), West Ham)
Chelsea
United
West Ham

Even Leeds could find another gear under Marsch as shown against Wolves and with Bamford, Phillips, and other key players returning from injury - but I'd still back Arsenal to beat them at home.

I don't think we will get to 4th sadly. I have been impressed with Arsenal and I have expected them to drop points but not really seen it recently.

They are in good form. I just don't see us beating them in the NLD to get us back on a level keel with them. I think we have got into form a little too late.

We have had a few bad results which may cost us, but we shouldn't be looking any lower than 5th.

They took 6 points off us. There is 1 point between us on level games. They also have Arsenal at home. They have a much stronger squad than us with a number of game changers .

Haven't got it all easy though bud.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester. Brighton can give anyone a game & Palace won't be a breeze either.

A lot of talk of Newcastle being a force in next few years. I think the game has changed. Particularly in the Premier League. All the top premier league clubs can afford big transfer fees now if they want. £50m-£70m. Above that yes, a smaller group. Getting the top players is more about status now. When Man City landed Aguero for £38m and insane wages it was an outlier. Now any of the top clubs can make a big deal like that (at today’s prices). Recent evidence Diaz to Liverpool. We bid the same if not more. He went there for status, chance of winning etc. I think it will take them a lot longer than people think. They will have to blow their wages to revenue ratio and pick up mercenaries, go through a few managers and hopefully get lucky on an Aguero type signing that changed the game for Man City. From a commercial point of view as well they might struggle to land legitimate deals being Saudi backed. There will be a lot of scrutiny on them to prove an arms length relationship with the state so doing the kind of deals Man City do might be tricky.

No, I wasn't saying they have got it easy but, if we have a good chance, so do they and it is a bit silly that the majority on here seem to have turned it into a Spurs or Arsenal race.

From an attacking perspective they have a few options, but midfield they are average and at the back they are susceptible.

why does everyone seem to rule out Man Utd ?

Because United dont have a pattern of play that they believe in. They need to go on a run but even the win against us was mainly Ronaldo show than them playing convincingly.

United have quite a lot of tough fixtures in their next 9 games including Chelsea , Arsenal , Liverpool + some tough games like Palace (A), Everton (A)

As for as us, we have a settled XI and a definite pattern of play - we create more and finally finding consistency having won 4 out of last 5 PL games. United will be fighting with us for top4 along with Arsenal but I see Arsenal as bigger threat than United.

I think our first 11 is now ready to mount a serious title challenge next season. We just need reinforcements as our bench is extremely weak. Having to rely on winks to come off the bench is not a good option. We need backups in most positions, but our first 11 is total mustard and Antonio has got us playing the way he wants.
I'll have some of whatever it is you've had please.

We possibly have too settled an 11 in so much as they are almost all inked in now and the international breaks have not been kind to us in the past. Also any injury causing Kane to miss a few matches would probably end our chance.

If hypothetical injuries can end our season, it will end Arsenal season too , if Saka gets injured .
