CL 2024 will be 2 Extra places to countries that have best previous season as a whole. So if in place now 5th would get CL from PL other country probably be Spain. Pretty much guaranteed 5 places every season ?
Are these the new rules that have been agreed.

I think will be today I’m sure 10th was the date so presume this is last amendment. It’s a ridiculous unfair idea but benefits us. Why should 1 club benefit because clubs from same country have done well. We will have to end up cheering on every English team.

No point even thinking about whether Arsenal drop points at Newcastle. We must win the next 2 games, only after that has happened will I think about the game on Monday.

I feel more calm about it now that it doesnt seem like Conte will walk if we finish fifth.

Me too. Especially as Conte doesn't do so well with European competitions and with mid-week games in general, in some ways it might suit him more to have Europa in which he could justifiably use weaker teams, something that wouldn't sit well if we made it back into the Champions League. It is also a competition we are more likely to win.

The bottom line is neither we nor Arsenal have the squad depth to be really competitive in the league AND the CL, no matter what business we get done over the summer. It wouldn't surprise me to see whichever of us misses out on fourth this year actually finish higher in the league next season.

This is me resigned to fifth, if we finish fourth I reserve the right to completely change my tune :)

I'm pleased with the progress. I would obviously love 4th, but I'd written off anything above 6th before Conte came in. I'm very much looking forward to Conte being in charge for a full season, with another transfer window and a full pre-season. The future is bright!

I think Arsenal beat Newcastle but have a feeling they’ll only get a draw against Everton.

I think we beat Arsenal but only draw against Burnley. Arsenal then lose away at Newcastle and we secure 4th away at Norwich. I think the point at Anfield will be crucial.

I think quite a few of us are feeling less confident about the Burnley game than the Arsenal one...

I actually think Burnley situation suits us. Normally they’d be very happy with a point and low block but surely they have to go for a win.

I don’t know. I think following the pressure and stress of a relegation battle which the club are not used to, if they are safe by the last game I expect them to be on the beach on the last day. However, some teams feel liberated by the lack of pressure and play better, so I really hope you are right.

Got to be beat the goons tomorrow though or it wont matter.

But we're neck and neck with arsenal now when we had Europe and they didn't. I expect us to finish above arsenal next season regardless of what form of European football we both have. Both will strengthen in the summer but I fancy we will have a better window with Conte attracting players and Paratici getting them in. Arsenal will have to adapt to those extra games next season.

It's a strange one because it doesn't solve RM and Barca's current financial problems, which was the driver for the Super League, because they qualify for CL anyway. It just strengthens the EPL, which is already too strong for UEFA and Europe's interests.

Real, Barca and Juve never withdrew from the Super League, so they're probably being frozen out a bit in the decision making. I expect the logic is purely on making as much money as possible, and a 5th English club most years certainly helps with that.

Over to you Tripps and Dele...(if he even gets on the pitch)

Arsenal look shell-shocked, if they can recover from this to take maximum points in their next two games, then fair play.

Imperative we send out a statement on Sunday against Burnley - that game will be very tricky, make no mistakes.

We have to beat Burnley. Absolutely no excuses.

If we do that, Arsenal must go to Newcastle on a Monday night with a half-fit Ben White their only available CB and win.

Please spurs, for once just buck the trend and get the job done.

Great confidence boost for us, while Arsenal lost their heads leading into the last two games of the season. Anything is possible, feeling more excited than anxious now.

A draw will be fine Mr. Howe ??

"Howe has faced all the top five teams since taking over at Newcastle and has lost all seven games to an aggregate score of 21-2."
