Just seen the 2nd goal again on MOTD and the lack of effort from Doherty is shocking, just trotting back. It was his pub league technique that gave the ball away to begin with, he then gets bullied by Lingard of all people and then he saunters back. If he’d busted a gut to get back he’d of been there with Fornals and therefore where lingard scores

For me the biggest culprit is Sanchez for the second goal, the way he let Lingaard past him without even trying to challenge was mindblowing.

@Shadydan - you happy to keep spending top dollar to watch a fucking awful team play in a lovely, sparkly stadium?? It’s madness. Talk about getting your priorities all wrong.

Our only 2 quality players will be gone this summer. You wait and see. And no doubt our illustrious owners will once again pish the transfer money up the wall on fucking two-bob gambles like Nacer Chadli and Vlad Chiriches. Vlad fucking Chiriches.

Vlad wasn't suited to the Prem, but was a solid CB who was a starter for Napoli for the following two seasons.

We were unlucky to lose. However, ultimately they beat us because of our abysmal defence. Very worrying. Not easy to recruit three new defenders and a goalkeeper to fix the problem.

1 Ledley, Naybet or a VVd would sort it right out.

The defence is a unit.

Most football pundits are fucking clueless...

All waxing how solid west ham were, total bollocks, we had 20 attempts of which four should have gone in with west ham all over the place.

Our bad luck and poor finishing doesn't mean west ham were solid.

They defended very well.

Much better second half. Which proves we can play well. Strange that we don't do that from the off. Now, I'm not so sure I can blame Jose, as easy as that would be. We have maybe 5 top quality players, the rest are just good (ish) at best, and very very average. Most of our team have hit their ceiling. I honestly don't think even Jose can get any more out of them as they are simply not good enough and never will be. Top players are not just good, they are consistently good.

Or did West Ham sit back, defend a 2-0 lead and let us have plenty of possession??
Personally I'm much more concerned about the atrocious first half - the walking pace, the lack of movement, the 3 touches before we got our head up to find a pass.
We have no fluidity going forward, we have no obvious attacking plan as a team. I agree second half was better (and Bale helped) but as I say, West Ham sat back. We didn't cut them open too often - I can only remember the Kane pass across the 6 yard box which should've been a goal.

And defensively things are not going to improve by changing the centre back pairing every week. It was Toby & Dier for ages, then Rodon gets a few games, now Sanchez has played a few on the trot after being in the cold for months. Rodon can't even make the bench.
Mourinho can blame individual mistakes (which are clearly happening, pretty much every game) but he is not helping with this chopping and changing in a key area.

I could sort of survive the summer after another crap season, consoling myself with the thought that next year it will be different, (again), but I fear that if we finish mid table, as seems likely, and get toasted in the cups, (also likely), we will lose the likes of Kane and Son this summer, and after so many false dawns the club will be back stuck in mid-table mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

Then understand this. In Levy we have a chairman who is capable of steering us through these very murky waters. As a club we have had zero stadium income for close to a year now. And not just Spurs football, but NFL, concerts and other events. That's 6 million per home game x 19. NFL x 2, several concerts a year. We are talking serious bucks. And without Enic and Levy's passion none of that would have materialised. Trophies are soo important, I know. But THFC is more than that. We are a shining example of how to GRADUALLY BUILD success. And it's coming.
21 years he has been in charge
do you love him?

They defended very well.
Yeh that challenge from Rice to prevent a near-certain goal just before Bale hit the crossbar was insane. I feel like if that was any of our defenders that's an own goal straight away.

I wish that we could bottle the pre-match optimism and sprinkle it around during the match like fairy dust.

He was brought on to attack , not defend, shame he is completely shite at that too...

This guy's videos are brilliant. Fromage Fraser Forster ???

Couple of things from the video, Sanchez/Soucek head clash,
Soucek jumped straight up ready to defend again whilst Sanchez lay prone on the ground,
3 guesses which player lost a pint a of blood.

The initial challenge leading to the 2nd goal by Hjobjerg and Doherty was a disgrace.

Yeah let's just ignore the fact that it's a head injury in the first place, there's a reason why the game normally stops when player's clash heads.

Well done for Soucek for getting up but some player's don't get up from head injuries.

I havent seen anyone step back and recant yet from making Dier a scapegoat for the first goal. The replays on MOTD shows he was correctly attracted to the near post run as I thought at the time. He wouldnt have realized that Tanganga was left with 2 attackers to cope with so initially expected Tanganga to deal with anything behind him. I'm sure when he watches the replay himself he will see the difficulties JT was left with. Sanchez being pulled out of place didnt help nor stuck on his line Lloris.
