I think Harry should have made more noise about it right after the game. He talks a lot, it's his style, but sometimes when it's in our interest (and in general interest) to put some pressure on refs afetr their blatant mistakes, he remains curiously quiet.

Yeh , I know we are Spurs so therefore we have to slag Arsenal (yawn)

But , imagine a Spurs manager commenting in support of an Arsenal player like this....impossible . To look at the game overall instead of just repeating petty local rivalries... we aren't capable.... simple as that .

Yes , Wenger has another agenda involved but commenting ( and VITALLY ) drawing attention to scum like Stoke cheating their way to survival is a positive for the game overall and to us in particular . If we had lost a point or all 3 many here would be up in arms..

I reckon refs WILL now watch out for keeper knobbling and amen to that .
steady on

Right now where were we..?.Oh yes , fuck scum Wenger ,****s ,Gypsies etc etc blah blah

that's more like it. STAND UP....

I agree with him, but surely his comments demostrate that all the Gooners who claim its just them who get this sort of rough treatment are talking bollocks?

I'm sure if I put that argument to any of my Gooner 'mates' they'd all just say thay haven't seen the article.

Arsene's record against Big Sam's physical teams brought about this comment. He is just teeing the ref up to save his shambolic keeper's from a physical game.

Wenger upset at treatment Spurs have received

Arsene Wenger is not one to be slow when it comes to making comments in relation to rough football and usually he is derided for what some believe to be whining and moaning when his Arsenal side have suffered a defeat or dropped points against lowly teams, not this time, in fact this time he is using Arsenal’s bitter North London rivals Tottenham as an example of rough and unfair football.

Last week Stoke City went mad when they believed that they had scored in the final seconds of their game against Tottenham, the ref ruled that no goal had been scored, Stoke lost and put the entire blame on the ref and his inept handling of the game.

Harry Redknapp, the Spurs manager was having none of it and pointed out that Stoke had in fact fouled the keeper before the controversial incident and he has now found an ally in Arsene Wenger, who has used that very incident as a way of pointing out that the way Stoke play should not be acceptable in football saying,

“I saw some pictures last Sunday; you cannot say any more it is football, it is rugby on the goalkeepers [more] than football.

“The referees cannot go on and accept that.

“When you see how [Stoke defender Ryan] Shawcross kicked [Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho] Gomes, how [Robert] Huth pushed Gomes in the goal, you cannot say that is football any more.

“If the referees allow that you cannot accept that because that has nothing to do with the game.

“Apart from that, when a team play long ball and head the ball and become physical I accept that completely and I respect that – but it has to be in respect of the rules, that is all.”

It is refreshing to see Wenger come out and actually comment on other games as opposed to his own teams games when it comes to bad football, Arsenal have been victims many times when it comes to unfair and brutal tactics by the opposition, but the truth is that people were getting fed up of hearing Wenger always moaning about tactics etc especially when his team dropped points, they cannot say that now.

Fair dues to the Frenchman because it is fact that Arsenal are not the only victims, Spurs also get the sharp end of the stick when they play against some of the lesser teams, Tottenham may not have suffered as many broken legs as Arsenal have, but bad injuries and a broken leg were inflicted on Spurs players last season and that points to the fact that teams like Spurs and Arsenal, who do play proper, entertaining football are being targeted, simply because there is no other way to stop them.

Wenger doesn't give a stuff about spurs, he knows he has a game against Blackburn this weekend so he is trying to influence the ref as much as possible.

Yes, he has an agenda. But he's still right. Stoke are a horrible team, it isn't football.

He's trying to get into the minds of the refs before the game is actually played, he doesn't like Spurs at all, and probably didn't care that Gomes got fouled.

He just cries because Stoke, Blackburn and Bolton stop them from playing an open game, but at the end of the day it's a mans game. Luckily Spurs have a few players who can mix up their game and put themselves about. Ekotto, King, Kaboul, Dawson, Palacios, Pavlyunchenko and Crouch. Arsenal only really have Sagna, Bender and Song to get nasty

Wenger has a very good point. His agenda is that football has to be played with skills on the ball. Just think for a moment - would the Premiership be of the same quality if he never came to England? Hate him all you want but the guy is a world legend.

It can't be any more flattering than him watching our game against the bloody Stoke let alone getting on our side.
