actually pretty clever of him. if he makes the same point but only cites times when arsenal are the victims, everyone would call him Whinger and ignore his point

Dare I say that I like some of his ideas about football, it's just that when I was younger he used to rub me up the wrong way.

Abso fucking loutely .

Many on here blamed Gomes :duh:....

Wenger is right the deliberate Stoke assault on Gomes was a new level of blatant cheating ...

and spectacularly successful it was too . They practically drew the match because of this ONE type of cheating . The ref was a few yards away from the attack on Gomes for the almost goal and didn't give anything .

True Gome's confidence crumbled due to the incessant assault and zero protection, which is unfortunate. I think keepers can get away with quite a bit of return violence (misplaced punches ,studs up knees up etc)...but is this what we want . To teach our keeper violent solutions to attacker violence .

No , we want the refs to wise up and increase the penalties for attacking keepers . Its a very very effective piece of cheating , often more effective that the last defender fouling a forward through on goal ,which is straight red .

Attacks on keeper ....instant booking .

Fuck off Wenger.

At least we can still win when getting buillied unlike you ****s!

I was expecting a headline like: "Spurs can play with Young Boys if they want, they have that right. I like to play with them too."

In reality, I think it is just a sly Whinger way to get the refs to protect his 'kiddies' on the pitch, rather than him, like, actually buy some players who can cope with a physical challenge:razz:

Having said that, he is right. Gomes was treated pretty roughly, and, as I said at the time, Stoke should be keeping quiet about the ref as he let them play their 'physical' game, rather than whingeing about him, and drawing attention to his performance.

It can be a rough 'ol game, I'm sure in other countries they have teams such as Blackburn and Stoke (perhaps not so much Bolton now) who result to other means to ensure their top flight status.

It's all about building a team that is not only skillfull, but has the heart and toughness to overcome such teams that then make an ultimately sucessful team.

Look at Man U, they've had a good team over the years but also had some hard but also skillful players in their side who IMHO are the best kind.

Arsenal used to when they had a midfielder with balls such as Vieira, Petiti, Flamini or Gilberto - it's their look-out that the current ones are perhaps a tad more pussiesque.

It was previously why I worried about Huddlestone as he was a pretty but soft player. But given the second half of last season and the early signs of this one, he seems to have toughened up and is up for the fight when needed.

Yeh , I know we are Spurs so therefore we have to slag Arsenal (yawn)

But , imagine a Spurs manager commenting in support of an Arsenal player like this....impossible . To look at the game overall instead of just repeating petty local rivalries... we aren't capable.... simple as that .

Yes , Wenger has another agenda involved but commenting ( and VITALLY ) drawing attention to scum like Stoke cheating their way to survival is a positive for the game overall and to us in particular . If we had lost a point or all 3 many here would be up in arms..

I reckon refs WILL now watch out for keeper knobbling and amen to that .

Right now where were we..?.Oh yes , fuck scum Wenger ,****s ,Gypsies etc etc blah blah

Isn't this just a case of Wenger backing up his old arguments and disagreement with Tony Pulis??

There's no love loss between them if i remember correctly?

Football is not all about tippy tappy pretty passing. A well worked corner or set piece that ends with a bullet header smashing into the top corner can be just as good to watch as a thirty pass move.

A great Football Team can blend finesse with fight.

As for Wenger's comments, I seem to remember Jens Lehmann handling himself pretty well. Manhandling opponents to the ground when they got in his way. What did Wenger say about that?
