Normally it is funny to see our fans get childish and whiny but for some reason this transfer window I find it really annoying.

Maybe it is because there is so much money flying around. Or maybe it is because we are a CL team again and now people think we are the shit.

According to the player himself, we have bid and bid and bid and AZ won't even come to the table to discuss it. That's not playing hardball. That's downright rude to Vincent Janssen. This transfer will get done under our terms because the player wants to come to us and we are Tottenham Hotspur and they are AZ. We ought not to just stump up the extra money when everything is in our favor.
No of course we shouldn't, we should just haggle and haggle until Chelsea or somebody else comes along and gazumps us........AGAIN !!

Huiberts told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, "We have done extensive research to approximate the market value of Vincent, with people who understand it, for example.

“We have ambition at AZ and want to belong to the top four in the Netherlands, so it does not help if we sell our players. Vincent signed a contract here a year ago for three years. Basically, we do not want to lose him.”

Yeah, alright then mate.

He's got 2 years left. We've offered good money. You know it makes sense Rodders.

I've always felt dutch clubs have massively undervalued their players in the past. Compare them to Portugal for instance who always command big figures and is relatively similar in terms of league standing.

I appreciate Portuguese clubs have to factor in third party ownership but still the buying club is happy to pay the premium.

IF I were in charge of AZ, and I knew Levy was the leader of the other party in this deal, I'd about now call him and inform him that the price just increased to 22M. :meh:

Hmm so he did, everywhere I've read said he signed a 4 year deal

Either way I don't see the contact duration being a massive factor here. They seem open to selling him, we are keen on him and most importantly he really wants to come to us. I feel pretty confident about this one. Preferred him over Bats anyway.

chelscum swooped batshit with one attempt.. citeh seemed to get nolito rather efficiently.. sane to liverfool was swift too.. makitheryan to manure drags, but negotiation seemed well in stages without one dicking over the other so much..

just wondering are we exhausting too much efforts in our transfers? is just getting too frustrated.. I realised I was waiting for wednesday as I read somewhere we are preparing for some bids to Sanabria I think, and here I am friday still seeing discussions possible signing for us in the media... good grief..

We completed a really important transfer last week and things are moving into place for others. Chill.

Non Euro2016 players started pre-season today. Janssen, I am guessing, would have likely joined them. It's very frustrating to think that we are squabbling over 2m euros and missing the opportunity of him bedding in as soon as possible. IMO, we may need him to start the first couple of games as Kane could do with an extended break.

I just hope this doesn't go on much longer!

Don't like this. Fair play to AZ for getting such a talent for cheap and helping develop him. We don't 'deserve' him more just cause we're a bigger club. Imagine a Madrid fan or United fan said that about Kane.

Nothing in there said I think we 'deserve' him as I noted that Janssen has made it clear he wants to come to us. He's come to our facilities and agreed terms and is clearly frustrated that his club isn't coming to the table.

Kane is different because he has reiterated that he wants to stay with us. If he had expressed desire to move, then let him go.

I agree fair play to them. It is what we have done and continue to do in the past, developing players well. In he past we also sold on the players that wanted to achieve bigger things than us. The situation has changed slightly for us now because we are seen within and without as contenders and we are in CL.

Wow. How fucking arrogant do you want to come across?

Not arrogant but more confident than some small sections of our fans are. Maybe I did put that too arrogantly, but all wrapped into that comment was the thinking that Janssen likes what we have and we are in a strong position. AZ is an inferior team that should get a good price for the talent they have developed, which they are being offered, but according to the player and media they aren't 'coming to the table' whatever that means.

The confusing part in all this is the blurred lines of transfers nowadays. No longer do you need to agree a fee before negotiating with a player. It is outright known that a player through his agent have already agreed to a certain parameter of terms. That's where I feel bad for AZ.
