I saw enough from the MOTD highlights to say with some confidence that he's going to be the balls

Now if everyone could just stop getting unjured...

He's definitely the missing link in attack. His control is sublime, he has a great eye for a pass, is quick and skillfull on the ball, and he isn't afraid to help defend aswell. No doubt his best is yet to come with full match fitness, but i'm really excited to see him in our attack. He was without doubt our best attacking player today. Maybe Bale would've been if he was played left wing, but he had some defending to do instead. So VDV was relied on even more in attack.

Agree he looked pretty excellent, he and Modric were already linking well before Modric got injured. They should really enjoy playing together (and should be a joy to watch!). Seemed determined to make a good impression too with a few good tackles (and a couple reckless ones, even, one was a Palacios-style two-footed torpedo slide!).

just personal opinion, he focused on creativity and tryinhg to show his skills, it's worked for us sometimes and badly lost or almost losing possession ( specially in 2nd half ) .. he made one decent shoot but his 2 free-kicks were crap ( as Niko did it for once ) ..

if we managed better free-kicks, we could won it, and my final rate he was average, the 2nd half performance for our team team speak for itself even thought it was vs promoted team and we used 3 in the middle, we were poor and i'm starting to think, we are just any other team without Modric or Bale on LM... we didn't deserve this point.

Good performance. I slightly worry - on, I admit, zero evidence or logic - that he thinks he's better/too good for us. Or maybe just certain members of the team that he didn't feed at certain times.

For his first game I thought he was ok. A couple of nice touches. Will grow in confidence and get better.

VDV potentially injured, tight calf, hopefully he is ok.

Hopefully it was just a symptom of the fact that he is still not quite match-fit, though there was a clear improvement on that from Saturday.

He is one of the top midfielders in Europe, make no mistake about it

Once he went off we lost the ability to keep the ball. The things i liked most about his performance was the fact that he continually looked for the ball and when he didn't have it he hassled the opposition forcing them to make mistakes.

Once he went off we looked totally lost without him. Hopefully Huddlestone can learn a lot from him on how to boss the game wanting and keeping the ball.

And already, from the little we have seen of him so far, I would say he is on a one man mission to make the Powers at Real look like planks:grin:

Superb player, what a signing, I hope he's not injured because he's the player we've need since Gazza left. The guy is a winner, a leader, and a superb footballer. Tonight he ran the show in the first half

I actually think it looks like we've bought back Le Gin!

He's different gear and the thought of him and Modric getting a run in the side together gives me sexwee!
