I don't get it, I really don't. Over-priced, and we have Lennon and Bale. Spend the cash on a striker please Dan.

I agree on the Young front - he will be massively over-priced for what he is and considering the need for him in the team (which I value as quite low). If Man City don't care too much about Bellamy then bringing him in at a good price would work well for us. We need to focus on a world class centre forward (tall, fast and strong if possible, and if Woody and King really are completely crocked, we had better get a top quality centre back too. One flexible midfielder on top of this would make for a great summer.

Not sure his career is really 'off track' is it? According to Wikipedia (the font of all knowledge) he got 9 goals and 16 assists last season. For someone who plays largely out on the left that's not a bad return.

Well I didn't think he had a brilliant season, he didn't even make the first stage of selection for the England squad but seriously do we need him? I can see why Bellamy would be of interest because of his work rate and he was Man City's best player IMO last season.
If we didn't sign any of those I wouldn't be too upset.

I'm glad we have so many people in here who know the exact value of all the players we're being linked with :grin:

Yeah, let's get some decent wingers in to replace the gash we currently have in Lennon, Modric, Bale and Bentley...

Ridiculous. I hope this isn't true.

I think basing who is good based on who was in the England squad is unwise :grin:

I think if you ask most Villa fans about Young they'd say he still had a good season. They'd certainly be gutted to lose him.

Oh come on, it's pretty obvious that O'Neill would demand a pretty penny for Young. He doesn't want to sell him and has no need to (especially if the they get big bucks for Milner), he's pretty young and English (which we all know pumps up the price), and in the past O'Neill has valued him at £82 million :grin:. Seriously though, he's bound to be over-priced.

Well going by my ITK Update 56, still looks like all is pretty much the same. It looks like Cardozo is going to be the striker/no 9

Typical Tottenham, Levy Baulked at Watfords price far too expensive, prepare to pay double what you should of paid a few years ago.

Bellamy and Young?! You sometimes wonder if Redknapp wants us to even make it as far as the Champions League.

Young had a very poor season last year so this is a big no for me. In fact I don't think he has played well since Corluka played him off the park after he demolished Zakora in the first half in our game the season before last.

It depends how you look at it. How highly do you value Lennon? Well Young has contributed more in terms of goals and direct assists (not the be-all and end-all but a pretty good start) in both of the last two seasons than Lennon so could be valued similarly.

I agree that 20m sounds alot for Young but if Harry can convince Levy that's what he's worth then believe me that's what he's worth because Levy wouldn't spend that much money for a pup.

There seems to be a mix of people complaining about us not splashing the cash and those saying the players we're linked with are overpriced. I'm not really sure what some people want.

Lennon = right wing
Luka = not a winger
Bale = everything, a superstar
Bentley = right-winger

Two of those have genuine pace. Two of those also did not really play more than a few games in the same first 11 last season due to injuries. If we want to be real in keeping a top 4 place and seeing how far we can get in the CL versus how Harry wants to play, Young makes sense to me mate.

I guess Young or Bellamy as part of an attacking pair behind the lone striker would make sense, but wanting both seems strange.

It would certainly be interesting to see Young and Bale together on the left though!

Young or Bellamy would give us a wide attacker in a 4-3-3. As good as Kranjcar and Modric are on the left, neither play as far up as Young, and Bale is best coming from deep (he has the energy to get up and down that side all day).

We would need a Forlan or Fabiano through the middle to get the best out of our players.

Gomes
Corluka....Dawson....King....Bale
Palacios
Modric....Hudd
Lennon............................Young
Fabiano/Forlan

Works for Barca. The question is whether Young can score enough goals. If we played to his strengths, I think he would get 1 in 3. Same with Bellamy.

I can't believe some people are rejecting the idea of us signing Bellamy and Young as them not being good enough!
Seriously we are TOTTENHAM, not real madrid! Those are OUR calibre players and until we start tasting real success then get used to us signing players like that.
They would both strengthen our squad tremendously this year - especially when you factor in the fact we are fighting on 4 fronts this year! Bellamy will give his 100% in every game, and Young, if Harry can get the best out of him, will spell a danger to any side we face should we choose to play counter-attacking football.

Both players give us options, and if the chance is there to sign them, then we should snap them out.

It wasnt long ago that Young was linked with Real Madrid.

If it was less than ten mill plus Jenas and Keane, I wouldnt be too upset. Harry knows we need to play 4-5-1 away from home, but for it to work you need midfield players who will get beyond the striker.

I cant imagine we would buy both Young and Bellamy, and I really hope we dont sign Oscar Cardozo, who has never impressed me.
