i think if we sign any striker is going to be lewandoski from dortmund.. the way its panning out its rvp to united, dont think cheslea are after a striker and arsenal have signed two strikers already and city would be looking for biiger name should they need one so that leaves us. he is probably best we could hope for .

If Cazorla is made available.. he'll be going to Chelsea won't he...

He'd be the perfect replacement for Luka. He only signed for Malaga last summer for 22m€ so i think the fee would be around 25-30 mark. If we get 40 for Luka and got Cazorla for 30, thats a great deal in my opinion.
According to Spanish press he wants to leave as they still owe him 40% of this season's wages and Spurs have offered him double the wages he earns now at Malaga.
It could be all rubbish coming from "As" newspaper, but i bloody hope its true.

I disagree and don't wanna spam... but... you would be happy to get less wages in your new job than you're on now? you'd be a twat if so...

Me and my wife earn enough money to own a house, 1 car each and support our 2 kids with whatever they must need. So obviously I couldnt drop to much on my salary before I wouldnt be able to pay for this but comparing us "normal" workers to the kinda salary these money grabbing twats earn is not fair at all.

Ade earns about 2 times as much as my wife and I earn combined in a year, and he does so in a frigging week. If I went from 9 mill in a year to 5 mill a year I honestly couldnt care less as long as I was happy in my work.

Yes but you can continue to earn your wage into your 60's. Footballers generally don't.

Not that this is what you're saying but it always makes me laugh when everyone is always commenting on what footballers earn, but never movie stars or even basketball or baseball players.

Just an observation :)

Well, if a footballer earn 3 mill a year for 10 years (average) thats 30 mill.

It would take me, my wife, my brother, his wife, my mother, my father and my mother in law 107 years combined to make the same amount.

And the same goes for other sports obviously.

I just mean A footballers mentality is more 'get what you can now' as when the football is over so is the earning potential.

Business is Business. no matter what field you are in.

i own my own business but in future instead of dealing with bank ill ask advice from you first if it makes you feel better!!! you can dress it up all you want. if spurs were offering adebayor wages close to what he wants or what his team would find acceptable then this deal would be done and he would have been playing tonight. its all about the money. we have a chairman who is not prepared to spend a penny above what he see's fit and thats where the stand off is. im sure it will be resolved but i really dont get what selling modric has to do with this.. we need a striker and been spurs im sure they would like a good one so pay the fucking money and if they sell modric im sure been spurs they would like a big name but that cost money too.. everyone knows we need strikers and everyone knows we will need modric replacement.

if we were clever we would and should have already got both striker and his replacement in already. persoanlly thought offering inter a wheelbarrow of money for leandro and oscar way back in may that would have been paid off and guarenteed by madrid buying modric was a no brainer but for some reason we act the maggot. Im sure those two lads arent on huge huge wages either . obviously different story if they had no interest which seems likely but offering them too good a deal to turn down and im convinced they woudl have been ours.

we have not signed a striker in two years maybe longer so if its a case of not been able to afford adebayor unless we sell modric or get money into club then i really despair. we are chancing our aim that way. we got lucky last year in that we got adebayor on loan without paying transfer fee but now when push comes to shove lets see what we can do shall we!!!

I don't believe anyone that owns their own business is this naive. If they are, their business will not last very long. It's like saying "I need a new fax machine, I know, I'll spend the next 3 years total profits on a second hand one".

After player trading was factored in we made a profit in 2011 of just £669,000. The year before we made a loss of £6.6 million.

Adebayor's loan alone cost us approximately 3.6m. plus whatever fee was paid.

For me Lewandowski would be better than Ade for Spurs. I think as the out and out striker in a front 3 he would be immense, tall, quick, great head. Has all the elements to lead the line and of course at about half the price in wages. Ade did great for us last season but i still dont trust his temprament and all season feared him going off the boil. He also costs a lot of money for a striker who isn't a pure goalscorer - he likes to drift left and his finishing isnt always all that. Just my opinion but i think Lew would be the better option.

If you earn More than 5 million a year for more than a couple of years, with the right investment strategy (ie not blowing it), there is no excuse for not being able to make your money last your whole life and beyond.

Having said that, greed is a natural characteristic for most, and if Ade thinks he is worth 175k per week, then it's really tough to convince him otherwise. It's not just the money......it's the perception of how valuable you are, and a steep drop in wages signifies your not as good as you think you are - tough for anyone to swallow.

According to AS and MARCA, Modric was at the Spurs HQ today, but did not train

this is true SSN just had pictures of him leaving after an hour and didnt train, also saying the Prwsident dinamo zagreb saying deal is virtually concluded

would not suprise me spurs selling him before replacement bought in. that would be typical spurs. either way he is gone, everyone knows it.

Since when have footballers ever followed this model?

They're footballers. Not business men.

You're not funding a third world country though are you? Having said that I was shocked to find out that water in such places only costs £2 per year. I pay over £40 a MONTH! In summary therefore ... I'm not sure if he needs the money or not.
