Me and my wife earn enough money to own a house, 1 car each and support our 2 kids with whatever they must need. So obviously I couldnt drop to much on my salary before I wouldnt be able to pay for this but comparing us "normal" workers to the kinda salary these money grabbing twats earn is not fair at all.

Ade earns about 2 times as much as my wife and I earn combined in a year, and he does so in a frigging week. If I went from 9 mill in a year to 5 mill a year I honestly couldnt care less as long as I was happy in my work.

It's all relative: as others have implied, Ade (apparently) gives a big chunk to charidy, will (presumably) look after his family and is likely to "only" see 50% of reported earnings after tax...

i'm not saying that even after all that it's a paltry sum, but my initial point was: in tough economic times, would you really move off a big contract for a smaller contract? We'd all play for Spurs for free... It doesn't make Ade a tosser just 'cos he wouldn't!

Love you all. Not sniping, just saying! :)

He'd be the perfect replacement for Luka. He only signed for Malaga last summer for 22m€ so i think the fee would be around 25-30 mark. If we get 40 for Luka and got Cazorla for 30, thats a great deal in my opinion.
According to Spanish press he wants to leave as they still owe him 40% of this season's wages and Spurs have offered him double the wages he earns now at Malaga.
It could be all rubbish coming from "As" newspaper, but i bloody hope its true.

£30m for Cazorla!!!!

Cazorla would be too good to be true so I think we can stop fantasizing now. If he's leaving Malaga I'd imagine RM or Barca especially would be very interested.

Santi Cazorla? The one who plays for Malaga?

He's a winger, he wouldn't be a replacement for Luka at all.

JJ says that we aren't in for Cazorla. Don't know why not, he'd be immense.

You're not funding a third world country though are you? Having said that I was shocked to find out that water in such places only costs £2 per year. I pay over £40 a MONTH! In summary therefore ... I'm not sure if he needs the money or not.

You don't know that do you? He may be the principal economic partner for Burkina Faso.

Guessing we want to try and get Ade wrapped up and see if Modric goes before we really know what we have left to bring in a 2nd striker, a CM replacement and possible a GK with.

He isn't a winger and he'd be an excellent replacement (not like for like).

Spurs hold out over Modric price: Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas tells clubs they must meet the asking pric... http://bbc.in/Orap1P

the buying club must understand DL stance on this, we need to stick with the asking price cause to buy someone else that can play his role and be as good as he can be on his day, is going to cost us dear unless a bargin comes available in the time we need it

I think spurs need to put a dealine on the modric saga, give ourselves the best chance of getting a replacement in, also keep the transfer fee undisclosed so would be selling clubs don't inflate their prices!

Agree he's not a winger, but he's more apt to the winger role than to he CM role. He' an attacking mid, with 0 defensive qualities

I'd buy him more to upgrade on Lennon than Modric

According to AS and MARCA, Modric was at the Spurs HQ today, but did not train
Saw on SSN that he left (in his Bentley - could only just see over the steering wheel!) after 45 mins. Did not train.

It's also on MARCA.

I disagree though, that he'd be a perfect replacement for Modric. He doesn't play that deep. He's an attacking mid. I'd sign him to replace Lennon, not Modric. Even though he's not a natural winger, he can play very well in that position.
