It's an interesting question and worth considering how other players in his position have fared in the current Utd.So the question is, would he stay at Spurs to be on the bench (where he will get many minutes i'm sure, but not start very often) rather than go to the Mancs to be in their 1st team?

Not sure how the 3rd placed team could be considered the only credible challengers to the title, but agree otherwise, I guessIt would be a very strange world if the team that's second in the PL and who last year were in the end the only serious challengers to the winners didn't have a bunch of players that other clubs wanted.
There's not a player at Spurs who some other club hasn't cast envious eyes over. It doesn't mean we're going to sell them.

not sure how this would go down, but until we started playing 3 centre backs this season, Dier's place in the starting eleven wasn't entirely nailed on.
So it's formation alone keeping Dier in the 1st team.
