Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier could leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window with a number of teams considering a move for him.
Dier has less than one year left to run on his Spurs contract but an agreement over an extension has not been reached and is not believed to be close.

Didn't read the article but happy if there's any truth in it. I can't see him playing much now and he'll be gone for nothing in a year.

Dier great lad

But I just think he doesn’t fit what we are trying to do.

We play so high you need pace.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Spam go after him if their Maguire bid falls through as Moyes tends to defend deep with big lumps.
Only way you can see Dier getting minutes with us is as a DM.

Who the next whipping boy will be for the ‘fans’ to direct their frustrations at
So-called whipping boys are a reflection of the club's inability to clear out deadwood and 'move on' over the last four or five years. It is not Dier's fault and I wish him all the best. Poch warned the club about all this years ago.

Dier is far from a press resistant 6 who can play as a single pivot. No way he plays in this midfield.

Good luck to the lad if true, but in truth have we ever had more than a few good seasons out of him? Hope he finds a team where he can prove his worth.

Yep.

We saw how Van De Ven was comfortable adjusting his body under pressure when on the halfway line and that is in the back line.

You need 360 swivel ability. Dier simply hasnt got it.

He’s played 361 games for spurs, and started over 30 league games for 4 CL qualifying teams. He doesn’t have to ‘prove his worth’, he just needs to find a team suitable for his current level and skill set, and he doesn’t have a role in our high line back 4 or as the 6. I wish him the best wherever he goes
