Whenever I've seen him he's been very complimentary about us to be fairYou get the feeling that if we weren't in 3rd right now, Souness wouldn't be including us in the 'race for the title' talk.
I agree we did defend well against a very good in form team but I don't think we absolutely thrashed them which seems to be the general opinion on here. We had two chances and took them.
Maybe I'm just being a boring prick but I think we shouldn't shout about it too much and concentrate on the next games.
Sky has been an absolute disgrace tonight.. From the punditry to the commentary right down to the wrap up of the broadcast..
Hate playing them. Would take a draw...not joking.
Are you Conte? That was a very good half of football, nice balance to it, like watching a good Italian game from 20 years ago. Tight tactical tussle. We definitely edged it, but Chelsea still carry that menace that any team with players like they have will.
I thought Wanyama and Eriksen were superb that half, I just cannot understand anyone who could countenance leaving Eriksen out of this side. Once again he was all over the place, popping up in little pockets of oxygen deep in our half and deep in theirs.
Wanyama has been defensively outstanding, snuffing out shit everywhere, shame about the one blot on his copy book, his game being what it is, got to worry a little.
Alli had been quiet but not as frustrating as he can be. Kane and Walker have been the most frustrating, especially Kane who appears to be wearing clown boots.
This set up has its pluses but the worry is when we cough up the ball high up, Chelsea have the means to counter and punish, like they did a few weeks ago
I hate that Conte seems like a decent guy and not like the typical ****s who manage rich teams.
So unlike the team he manages.
That needs a soundtrack.
What makes it more impressive is vdv was 27 and Le tiss had already spent 6 years at Southampton before the premier league startedFew things from the BBC:
Is nice, i like
- Chelsea lost their first Premier League game since September 24th (0-3 at Arsenal), and this defeat ended their 13-match winning streak in the competition.
- The Blues conceded more goals to Dele Alli in this match (two) than they have conceded in their previous six Premier League away games combined (one).
- Chelsea have not won at White Hart Lane since a 4-2 victory in October 2012 (drawing two and losing two since).
- Tottenham Hotspur are unbeaten at White Hart Lane this season, winning eight and drawing two; their longest unbeaten start to a Premier League season at home since 2000/01 (13 games).
- Spurs haven't lost a Premier League London derby at White Hart Lane under Mauricio Pochettino (winning eight and drawing four).
- Tottenham scored with their only two shots on target in this match.
- Dele Alli has now scored seven goals in his last four Premier League appearances; more than he'd netted in his previous 26 apps in the competition combined (six).
- Alli has equalled his 2015-16 goal tally (10) from 2015-16. He has managed to score this in 19 apps this season, compared to 33 last season.
- Spurs have never lost a Premier League match that Dele Alli has scored in (16 games - winning 12, drawing four).
- The only midfielders to reach 20 Premier League goals quicker than Dele Alli (52 games) are Rafael van der Vaart (44) and Matt Le Tissier (50)
