I certainly wouldn't welcome it, but there's also very little I could do about it if it happened - and I still don't think it will in the end.
The biggest issue for me is that of LGBTQ+ rights, gay men have it bad in Qatar, worse if they're also Muslim, and the treatment of the Trans community is even worse. Would further exposure to a more liberal culture lead to change? Almost certainly not.
So, what could I do about it? Boycott any of the Qatari linked sponsorships, easy. Up my charitable giving to related causes, certainly. That seems to be about it. I'm certainly not going to let them drive me out of my club, because I was here first, and will be here after if I live long enough.
