Oh What A Night is good too. Dan KP and Ben Haines who does N17 Live on there.

I quite like Dr Tottenham podcast too, which is a bunch of US-based fans. Quite interesting to hear a take from someone following thousands of miles away.

What ever happened to the Last Word on Spurs on LoveSport Radio? I used to enjoy that more than any of their other Pods.

Must admit, i cant bare to listen to many pods recently as i dont want to be reminded of Spurs...

I've also felt LWOS has never really gave it to ENIC like they should, especially when Poch got sacked.

they seemed to all be in love with Jose (apart from Jason who is the F-ing man!..he has proper principals and called this shambles a long time ago)

So The Fighting Cock had Windy on from the Extra Inch on their latest podcast.

Here he clarifies his stance on race and the previous tweets that have inflamed some folk.

Those folk have a responsibility to find out the truth rather base their response on a fucking tweet.

Context.

I still listen to it.

And I like all the guys on there. It can be rather extreme depending on the mood but I like that it's recorded straight after the match.

I quite enjoy a good moan after a 3-0 defeat in Zargreb.

I think the people on Twitter who were having a go at him were well aware that they were taking it out of context but just wanted to hurt him because they perceived his disdain fir Jose as somehow anti-Spurs.

Maybe. But it was also happening pre Jose.

Okay, as you can tell from below, I listen to a lot of football podcasts! I might be a touch critical of some in my assessments below, but believe me, I do genuinely enjoy most.

- The Extra Inch - Excellent listen most of the time with interesting, well-researched insights. However, they can occasional come across as a little haughty in their analysis, and rarely deviate from their embedded assertions on certain players/managers. But overall, it’s a great show.

- The Fighting Cock - Easy and enjoyable listening, although the humour can be a little juvenile. Still, they don’t take themselves too seriously and Flav is a charismatic presenter. Spooky, T, and Bardi are all knowledgeable guys, too.

- The Spurs Show - Almost zero insight and half the show is plugs for live shows/guest books, gigs/local stores. Hardly put it on anymore.

- Last Word on Spurs - Admittedly, I’ve only listened to one episode; their recent one with Romano the ITK fella. Ricky came across just how I imagined he would, so I won’t be listening again.

- The View From The Lane - Okay enough if you don’t mind incessant Athletic/shaving/beer plugs. For guys who are seemingly more privy than most on events at Spurs, it’s surprisingly bland. Pitt-Brooke isn’t the most engaging of presenters.

——————————————————

- ESPN FC - Empty vessels makes the loudest noise. Don’t mind the Marcotti/Laurens show, though, and Sid Lowe is a very knowledgable pundit.

- Football Ramble - Sometimes maybe good, some maybe... average. Some of the humour feels a little forced, but a pretty good listen mostly. Andy Brassell is a brilliant contributor.

- The Athletic/Tifo/Zonal Marking - Tifo’s Youtube content is superb, and their pods are very decent even if they don’t reach the heights of their videos. Like some other pods though, there is a hint of snobbishness at times. Zonal Marking had a great series during the summer, revisiting old games. Well worth checking out.

- Total Football Show - James Richardson is still the best around. Consistently delivers good shows, and their Golazzo pod is one of the best football programmes out there.

- BBC: Football Daily/606/European Football Show - Solid content from the BBC. Sutton on 606 is brilliantly pedantic, but Ballague often gets found out on the European Show. Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman are quality presenters, and Pat Nevin always provides high-level contributions.

- Guardian Football Weekly - Feared for it after Richardson left, but Rushden comes across well with his self-effacing style. His rapport with Barry is great. I don’t agree with a lot of Barry’s football observations, but I love his genuine dourness and disdain, particularly for clubs like PSG & City. Liew, Ronay, Auclair, and Wilson are all class.

- The Game (The Times) - Decent enough listen, although some way off The Guardian. Gregor Robertson is relatively new to the show and has impressed.

- The World Football Phone-In - The original and one of the best. Dotun is still as enthusiastic as ever, even if some of his dad jokes don’t hit the mark. Tim Vickery is in a class of his own, and they have some fantastic contributors from around the world, particularly in Mina Rzouki & the mighty Mark Gleeson.

(I should have taken more notice of the title of this thread! Apologies for including the more general football pods. I’ve separated them from the Spurs related ones, but I’m happy to remove them if you’d like me to)

Totally agree with everything about the Spurs pods apart from The View from the Lane. I really enjoy that. I like the fact the JPB is a city fan that has a soft spot for Spurs as he can be a bit more impartial than most whilst not going in on us like someone might do on the Totally Football Show (which I also like btw cos James Richardson is hilarious). I also JPB very funny in his own weird, nerdy, dry sense of humour kinda way and James Maw is just spot on with his views IMO. A really level headed Spurs fan that is just honest and fair.

I loved the Tottenham Way pod as I liked Dan KP's take on a lot of things and apparently he's now on a pod called Oh What a Night. Not tried it yet though.

The other non Spurs pod i listen to is the Tifo Pod. I like the presenter on that but mainly Seb Stafford-Bloor who I think is a brilliant journalist and also very level headed and smart with his analysis.

I like Last Word on Spurs and not sire why people don't like Ricky Sachs (sp), he comes across as very earnest to me. Garbles his words a lot though. The only one on that pod I can't stand is Anthony Costa, he just shouts over people

Cheeseroom Podcast is always good, as is Tottenham Podspur - always nice to hear what our cousins in America think

I think Ricky comes off a spurs version of Jim White trying to sensationalise every little thing going on. Not sure why they added Costa he’s like someone off AFTV. I think Lee McQueen is class as well as Jason McGovern.

I like them all.
They are all a relief from the irritating SC posts of
"ENIC have been good for THFC we havent been relegated"
"I remember the 90s"
"We don't want to do a Leeds"
"We have the best stadium in the world" (we don't it belongs to ENIC)
"I am a spineless mongrel and I really like Daniel"

You say that, but I don’t think many of the pods are anti-levy. I listen to Fighting Cock, Extra Inch, Oh What a Night and occasionally Rule the Roost. Even after the last few months, most of them tend to try and loosely support the protests while also not wanting to have any part of them. I guess they don’t want to piss off any anti-levy listeners.
But it does seem like the undertone is ‘what are you actually protesting about?’

Not completely Spurs related (although they do have some Spurs guests/stories) but I really enjoy Quickly Kevin Will He Score which is podcast that focuses on football in the 1990's. Hilarious at times and they have some quite big names on it (from the 90's).

Not seen The Spurs Show mentioned yet. Essential listening since 2007.
Christ that’s a throw back i think that was the first one I stopped listening to as was always getting wound up by the host (Phil Cornwell?) doing awful impressions he thought were hilarious and reminiscing over the good old days every single episode.

Think I’ve listened to most but they’ve all dropped away over the years for various reasons main ones were:
  • Fighting Cock - Started getting really aggressive and promoting the hooligan side (plus all the random drug/wanking ‘bants’ quickly stopped being funny)
  • Extra Inch - trying so hard to sound intellectual but found they were blinded by their own self importance to see that they never considered any counter arguments (plus they really hate this place for some reason  ) like some of Nathan’s stuff though I just can’t take him seriously when he pops up on a video with that hair o_O )
  • Last Word - Started strongly with some good guests and fun banter but turned towards talksport style which a grew tired of (not sure it that’s linked to them doing the radio bit)
  • Rule the Roost - not sure why I stopped listening to that one but think change of working from home rather than commuting cut down my spare time to listen

Only ones I listen to nowadays are Football Weekly, Totally Football show, Ramble (Delete half of them as so many come out) and view from the lane where it always sounds like they belittle us a bit but still give interesting counter views on how journalists see us)

Interested to see if there are any new ones with fun Spurs banter rather than hate filled rants (so much hatred going round that’s depressing to hear)

Used to listen sometimes to an Arsenal one “Tuesday club” as it was really cathartic to hear them taking the piss out of their own useless players in a genuinely funny way and soak up the jealousy of them watching us do well.

View From the Lane is back for the new season. I listen to this podcast most weeks (part of the Athletic stable) and find it generally pretty decent. However this season they have Danny Kelly as the presenter. I appreciate that he's a Spurs fan but I can't be doing with his presenting style. He seems really outdated and he's trying way too hard.

Last word on spurs is OK but at times it goes too far into fandom. Anthony Costa and crackers seem like nice blokes but they really do tend to speak like fans down the pub who don't do much research. Lee mcqueen does and I like it when the guy from lillywhite rose and Jamie I think are on. Be fans by all means but research stuff so I know something I didn't before hand.

The fighting cock I used to love. Listened recently and heard some bloke boasting about his sexual conquest earlier in the day. Maybe it's my age but I felt like I was listening to a podcast about the inbetweeners.

The extra inch isn't for me. I don't think they know a fraction of what they think they do and they and rule the roost suffer from the same rule. If you're going to be a dickhead on social media I'm not going to bother with you.

I really like view from the lane..Pitt Brook doesn't try to get too involved and I like that he isn't a fan, sometimes it's nice to have that outsider perspective even though he watches every game. I like James maw, perfect balance between being a long suffering fan and offering an informed opinion.

The spurs show is a bit similar to last word. Too many fame whores over informed spurs fans and last time I gave it a chance as said before it felt like a lazy format to shill shit.

I've tried listening to all of the above and pretty much agree, especially on the fighting cock!
I now mainly just listen to the Guardian weekly which is far from perfect with BG's utter hatred of Spurs for whatever reason balanced out by MR's obviously love for us, but they do generally have quite knowledable and interesting guests on

Yeah, it's a radio style and not podcasts. Like a theatre actor not getting the subtly of film. It's a conversation, just have a chat, relax. If it's not perfect it'll get edited.

Stopped listening to GW after Jimbo left, Glendenning is a tool.

I didn't mind JPB and the others just chatting to be honest, not sure if DK the right fit.

Agreed. I know he's a City fan, and is not liked by some, but I much prefer Jack Pitt-Brooke's presenting style. Danny Kelly reminds me of Danny Baker, both of which are far too verbose for the podcast format.

TFC, View from the lane were main two for me. I can't stand LWOS because Sacks and every guest go all Jim White sensational voice wise and start acting lol. Best one now imo is Same ol' Spurs with Majestic and Gazza. Maj is pretty funny and Gazza the more sensible one.

The latest podcast from Shelf Side Spurs.

Mate, is this released as a pod only anywhere?
I tend to listen to pods in bed at night and I suppose I could just put the vid on and turn my screen off but, thought it was worth asking. ?
