well, now … that's been a fun hour or so.

as often as the site has thanked me for my patience, I have to wonder … what could possibly make them think I've been patient?

I know this might piss people off but it just shows how completely random the system is.

Managed to get one really easily today. Went to the site at 9.40 and forgot about it until 10.10. Went back and realised I hadn’t actually forgot to sign in but donut was at 11 o’clock. Decided to chance signing in. Signed in, went straight through most block so were blue but only 1 or 2 seats in each block. Pressed select a seat for me and got one at the front of the north upper for £42.

The system desperately needs overhauling

I found a few cheaper seats in the south stand but kept getting error messages. In the end had to get the most expensive ticket at £80 in East. It really needs some work over the summer. Both the queue system and ticket options. Got on roughly same time as you, got through at about 10.20. Was on about same time for Palace, but that was too late.

They should do a ballot system again like they did towards the end at WHL and the likes of United do for their members. Its is the fairest way and everyone has equal chance.

Minded to agree with this but i also think loyalty points should come into it somehow (and i dont have hundreds of them). Perhaps a priority ballot for those with a certain number of points and then a free for all ballot there after.

As for tips for the queuing system, i think its completely random. I got one for Palace last week but there were plenty of people i know who were logged on earlier than me and were further around the wheel of doom than me. Crazy system.

I'm pretty sure that the club is not putting a lot of tickets up for sale to the One Hotspur an One Hotspur + members. I don't really know where many of the tickets are going. I have a suspicion that they are making a lot of tickets available to their official re-sellers at a higher price than the face value.
I have tried to buy from them for Huddersfield and they are asking for astronomical prices (£280 - £340 each!)
I have been paying One Hotspur membership for the past 8 years, for all of my family (Four) and never had any problem obtaining tickets in the past, both for White Hart Lane and Wembley.
I have to travel from Malta every time and it's very, very expensive. I am coming over for the Man City and the Huddersfield games and have no tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm desperate and my younger son just can't stop crying, literally!!!!!!!!!!!I
Actually think the club is ripping us off.

Not to be THAT guy, but booking accommodation and travel is surely best once tickets are obtained? If you're solely coming to the area for the games, that is. If not, then you can still enjoy the shop.

Silly question but are people genuinely shocked that they can't buy a ticket for our first game or that there's a lot of demand?

I would be more shocked at people going in and seeing lots of tickets available... o_O

Yes you are perfectly right. However this time round, the club put the tickets up for sale at a very late stage. For instance the CL match against City will only be available tomorrow, that's ONLY SIX DAYS before the game !!! You must remember that flights from Malta to London are always fully booked months before departure, so I must book early otherwise I will be unable to get flights. Moreover, in the past 8 years, I have never had any problems whatsoever in buying tickets. Now we have a 62,000 seat stadium, that's 26,000 more than WHL and still got no tickets.

It's not only a problem for our first game at the stadium (which I will understand) but also for Huddersfield (a relegated team!!!!)

So it seems I just found a palace ticket on the exchange, rushed through and bought it... for £4.50! Clearly they’ve made an error there and only charged their admin but keep trying people, sometimes this defective system works in your favour!

Not surprised, was just trying to see if the people who had been successful had an approach different from mine like ignoring the do not refresh, getting in the queue early, etc.

I’d get this checked out if I was you. Don’t want to turn up and get turned away

Speaking as somebody who was stuck on the ST waiting list for 10yrs before the new stadium I can confirm that it's always been virtually impossible to get a ticket for a premier league game once it drops to members. I always think of it as around 100k people all trying to fight over 5k tickets.

Think you'll struggle to get tickets for PL games up until to Christmas as the gloss of the new stadium will stay for a while.

You may well receive a call from the club. A few years back I’d failed to get a ticket for the Inter game but about a week before the game someone messaged me to say that a few tickets had gone on sale. I logged on and bought a ticket. 3 days later I got a call from the club explaining that there had been an error and they were sorry but I didn’t have a ticket. As a way of apology they guaranteed me a ticket to the next game I wanted to see. Luckily we beat inter and progressed to play AC for which the club kept their word and got a ticket for that game.

Yeah, I can’t imagine this is going to fly, although they have digitally sent me the ticket (which I thought was supposed to go on the card...).

Fortunately I only live nearby, I might just go over and chance it with little expectation, if it turns out to be a bonus, great, if not, I’ve lost little.

The idea of contacting the club and drawing attention to an error is not appealing.
