That’s a real shame for him. We also aren’t exactly flush with pacey wingers. Wonder if they might open up another slot in the intake.
Well my mate is a “pacey winger”, and has got a trial lined up with the Under-18s. He would be part of the new intake if successful.

Am I right in thinking we don’t actually have an official U18 head coach. Didn’t McDermott just take over when Matty wells left ? Maybe Ryan Mason time ?

I guess may be worth starting the 19/20 thread as they are already in for pre season. Nice to see Skipp confirmed.

This excites me, but bloody hell I feel old. TAH, remember when he was coming through.

Lovely to see an exciting mix, Matt Taylor a Spurs fan I’m sure. Gibbs quickly back from Swansea also.

How old is Troy A-H now?
I may be thinking of the wrong person but wasnt he a youth player? I'm sure I once had high hopes about him.
I like the idea of keeping Spurs people at the club, even if they don't make the grade as a player.

Edit. I think @bat-chain batman have just part answered my question as I was typing it!

Troy is only 30, so must have retired early for one reason or another.

Yeah, I'd be interested to know what's happened in his career.
Like I said, I'm sure I remember being quite excited by him when he first came on the scene.
Can't believe how long ago that was!

Interesting appointments.

Do worry about Gibbs' influence in the academy considering his background at hoofball Watford. I recall Troy being an absolute donkey. Shame to see he's had to retire early but huge kudos to MacDermott and the club supporting ex players.

TAH played for Exeter, Carlisle and Swindon and was released by Exeter a year ago after two injury-plagued seasons. Probably just decided it wasn't worth continuing as a player.

Nigel Gibbs did a great job while at Reading working with the youngsters so I am sure he will do a good job here as well.

burnett still managing the u23s then ...

mason's role is a little strange i think, maybe doesn't feel confident enough to take on a more full time position just yet. i did notice at the last u18s game i went to that he wasn't particularly vocal and preferred to have little chats with the players whilst mcdermott was the one doing all the instructing/shouting, not saying you necessarily have to be loud to be a coach but it is kind of expected.
