Don't know how much truth there is to people following him etc but would be good for him to get out and possibly go to Italy. Another who has stagnated after being a regular for England in his age group, and a good defender

edwards has just changed agents as well to base soccer agency(who also represent walker, rose and onomah amongst many others). not sure what to glean from that but thought it was worth mentioning.

Probably means he's off in the summer. Which is a shame as the talent is there and if given more opportunities things would've been different.

Weird comment considering there’s not been any reports of him acting up and not putting 100% in while he’s been over in Holland.

In fact he’s done pretty well by all accounts
Taarabt was a player that I really loved to watch play as a youth, and Edwards reminds me a lot of him (not in style).
Nothing to do with behaviour, though wasn't that allegedly pretty poor back in the Uk? More that they are two players that have been through our youth system and were gifted with unnatural ability and technique.........and look where Taarabt is now!

Isn’t Taarabt playing for Benfica?

Anyway my point is Edwards seems to have knuckled down and having a pretty good season.

Yes, Taarabt is at Benfica, and after 4 years in the wilderness has just made his debut there aged 29. I remember him as a kid doing an interview and stating that he should be at Barcelona - just so much ego and wasted ability!

You are right about Edwards though, and it's good to see that he's knuckled down this season. My fear was that the comparison to Messi might have given him a similar ego and his career go down the same path (which, imo, looked likely for a long while), and hence my reference to Taarabt.

Hackett has been called up to England u15s and apparently Scarlett was due to be called up but is injured, which is probably why I saw him wandering around the training ground by himself Saturday.

Edwards should take a long hard look at Taraabt and see that natural ability alone is never enough.

So while he's on loan, Marcus has been

* Taking criticism in stride
* Doing extra work after training
* Staying home and avoiding the partying scene
* Taking responsibility for his development and progress
* Giving his all to help the team avoid relegation
* Watching and supporting Spurs from afar

Good good, his talent level is up there with Sancho, CHO etc. Going out on loan is an opportunity to grow as a person as well.
Let's hope he haven't given up on Spurs yet and is allowed to take part in the pre season tour.

It was more around the fact that Taarabt's career has resurfaced in the press in recent days, and that despite his huge talent he hasn't reached the level that he should have..........but this thread seems to be full of people that want to argue the toss about semantics and trivialities, so I'll leave it there.
