Out of interest last time a Spurs youth team won a league title ?

The format gets changed every so often so you're not comparing like for like, but we've had a few regional section wins. I don't remember us winning the national title, certainly not at U18 level anyway. Then again my memory is shocking these days so we probably won it last season and I've just forgotten.

in 2013 the U21s finished top of the league but then lost to Man Utd in the Final of the knockout stage (who finished 5 points behind us in the league)...........in my eyes we won but lost out to a shit format.

Noni madueke in the U17s. Gonna be a superstar isn’t he ☹️
Not sure why a 17 playing for the U17s means he is going to be a superstar.

For PSV U17 he played 8 scored 3 and for their U19 he has played 14 scored 2 assisted 2, so nothing to suggest he will be a superstar but still plenty of time to develop.

will roles make it with us? well given how it's gone for other more lauded prospects then in all likelihood, no, but then he is on a different path to them so maybe he will be one of those to fly under the radar and make it without all of the fanfare that others have received. as for what type of player he is, here are his strengths and weaknesses, imo;

++
anticipation

+
aggression
composure
movement
finishing
vision

-
dribbling
pace
strength

he has 12 goals and 7 assists this season playing mostly as an attacking midfielder. stylistically he's similar to dele, he doesn't always appear to be the smoothest with the ball at his feet but wherever he goes goals usually follow him and he just has that knack that some players have of being in the right place at the right time. he's not quick or a dribbler so as an attacking player he won't immediately catch the eye but he's game smart and delivers where it matters. i think what's holding him back at the moment is his physique, his body is similar to kane's when he first started playing senior football, if he can really work on that over the next year or two then we might have a player on our hands. for some reason though the club apparently haven't offered him a new deal yet though so maybe those involved just simply don't rate him.
I actually think you are being slightly harsh calling dribbling and pace weaknesses. Whilst they certainly aren't strengths he plays to, he is fast enough on breakaways to make counter attacks count and can get past his man with ease when he wants to, he just never goes past more than one player before laying it off. I think it is more to do with style of play than lack of ability.

I just liked him had a touch of Zaha about him. Just watching England U21 and Reiss Nelson. Don’t think he’s there with sancho and Hudson but just wish we had a player of that kind. By the way has Edwards been dropped ? Bit of a blow for him been involved and a star at all age groups.

Personally, I rate Reiss Nelson higher than Hudson-Odoi.

Edwards has never played for England U21s but looks like he may have been dropped form the U20s as her hasn't been called up to the last 3 squads.

Enjoyed Windy's little Extra Inch roundup of the U18 players who might play the test event. A lot of pure speculation of course but I'd be very surprised if the players who are U18 but have played for the 23s don't feature in this game. Surely it would be a great test for them to play in front of that many people? Or is that it, once they're in the 23s they won't drop down?

it's generally quite fluid between the two age groups, we have a lot of players missing through injuries and international call-ups though.

The situation if that is what you want to call it regarding Roles has nothing at all to do with a contract - as of a few weeks back he simply hasn't been offered a new deal as yet, whether one is forthcoming who knows the ball is totally in Tottenham's court

Can’t claim to have watched Nelson extensively but he doesn’t excite me as much as sancho and Hudson did when first saw them and he’s s year older isn’t he ?

1 year older than Hudson-Odoi and 3 months older than Sancho.

Nelson has scored 6 goals in 5 starts and 13 sub appearances for Hoffenheim (in comparison Sancho has 8 goals in 19 starts and 6 sub app, though he also has 15 assists). The problem is Hoffenheim rarely play with AMs, they play with 3 strikers, which limits Nelson's game time, as they change formation when he plays.

Wasn't that game played at Old Trafford too? Fecking bizarre year that was.

It was played at Old Trafford and we were 2-0 up at halftime and we went onto lose 3-2. We beat Utd both Home and Away in the league that season.

So what's the probable team for the U18's Sunday and who are the stars of the future everyone should be looking out for?

youth line-ups are difficult to predict but something like this i'd imagine -

oluwayemi
okedina walcott lyons-foster* cirkin*
a.shashoua* white*
pochettino markanday* bennett*
clarke
those with asterisks are the main ones to look out for, though not to say the others aren't decent players either. markanday with his dribbling/overall technical ability and bennett with his pace and directness will likely catch the eye of the fans, cirkin at left back is a big prospect too and overall is probably the most complete package in the long-term. we are missing quite a lot of players though especially up front, clarke is more of a winger/wide-forward but has played up top before, if not him then probably u16 am/striker tarrelle whittaker will play there.

Shame Parrott is our injured but then again he’d probably be on international duty anyway

A little birdie told me that Poch Jr was not very good (bloody useless) and is only anywhere near these teams because of his dad
Any truth in this or has he improved since I was told that last year?
