Ahhh Zenon and Chris Paul. Both make my worst ever academy squad. We held onto these two for far too long.

Chris was a good lad but well below the usual standard of scholars. Zenon was in no sense below standard. He was absolutely fine, he just didn't have the maturity or drive when he was here to push on. I always felt he could have a lower league career if he applied himself and "got it". I was never convinced that Chris Paul would play professionally.

Charlie Owens is still there in their under 23. Only one left from those picked up by Chris Ramsey

Yeh, plus a load of our former U15s & 16s that Ramsey would have known well from his time with us. They didn't quite meet the criteria to get a scholarship with us but were perfectly suited to a club of QPR's size.

He seems to be in and around the first-team there and I always thought we should’ve given him a pro contract. He was definitely the best out of the ones we released from that age group, even though I think we still could’ve kept hold of Muscatt and Stylianides as well.

Owens, like Zenon, clearly had ability and potential. The club looked as his development over his two year scholarship and felt that he hadn't developed as much as they would have liked, I agreed at the time. They would also have asked whether another 12 month or 2 years with the U23s would increase his chance of fulfilling his potential or earning the club a fee and concluded probably not. Again, at the time I agreed with that judgement. I think Charlie will probably end up playing National League level, despite making some progress at QPR.

Muscat was a little different in that I felt he was just held back by his technical and physical limitations. His attitude was fine. I could easily see him, making a career as an okayish limited fullback at league 2 level.

From Owen’s position in the squad at QPR and his natural ability, he could potentially make a career in the Championship, if not in League One or League Two.
I agree with your view on Muscatt.
As for Stylianides, I believe he has the potential to be a full Cyprus International by the age of 25, and, if he chooses to return to England, he could make a career in League Two or the National League.
Despite Chris Paul’s lack of ability, compared to the rest of his age group at Spurs, he is currently playing in the National League where I could see him establishing himself there and, with luck, play in League Two.
While we’re discussing this age group, I can see Ryan Loft making it in either League Two or the National League.
Shilow Tracey will be lucky to make it in the National League.
Christian Maghoma will likely become a regular for DR Congo and, if he returns to England, make it in League One or League Two.
Thomas McDermott will be lucky to make it in the Irish Second Division, where he is now.
Tom Glover could potentially become apart of the Australian National Team as a 2nd or 3rd keeper and could become regular in the Championship or a backup in the Premier League.
Cameron Carter-Vickers will likely forge a career at a top Championship club or a low Premier League club, Although there is still a slim chance of making it here.
Finally, Charlie Hayford could make it in the National League and I believe Armani Daly has dropped out the professional game.
This definitely has to be our worst age-group in the last decade.

Always felt Zenon's career was effected massively by the tragic loss of one of his family members. He was differently talented enough.

Great post Hep..... Any idea how Maghoma is getting on in that cabbage league?
He seems to be in and out the starting XI. No standout performances but no howlers either. I expect he’ll be a regular within the next 18 months and then he can look for a move to somewhere he can progress, hopefully England. He should be ready for League One by then and he does have potential to play in the same League as his older brother one day.

Sterling going on loan apparently.

I don't think Sterling is good enough for us but that said we must be barmy depleting our striking ranks unless (who am I kidding!?) we're signing a striker. If Kane's injury takes longer than expected to heal then we're going to have Llorente up front indefinitely, which...urgh.
