Oh no, Levy has tried to protect the club by selling a contract rebel for a massive fee. Awful. Why didn't he send himself an acceptable offer earlier? Why didn't he force Kane to sign the 400k p/w contract through blackmail or threats? Why doesn't he want our best player to leave on a free transfer to a rival AGAIN?

Whatever way you look at it you have to hate him because you decided that part 20 years ago or so.

No, I won't. He made a balls up of the whole club from the point of sacking Jose until this summer.

Is that defending him?

Again, it's funny watching you and others state "I don't defend Levy, he's made mistakes" while simultaneously defending him from every bit of criticism he receives.

Fun to watch.

Or, as many have said previously, he's to blame for us being in a position where Kane doesn't feel like he can win the trophies his talent deserve at Spurs because of how we've been run under this ownership.

Where have I defended him? Show me where I have implicitly said its not his fault.

The kane situation right now is an impossible one to get right.

Almost as fun as watching you and other posters making stuff up to suit your point of view...

Saying that Levy isn't solely responsible for every bad thing that happens to the club isn't the same thing as defending him from every bit of criticism.

Levy has made many fuck ups over the last 5 years. That is undeniable. It's natural that he has become a weathervane for many fans' frustration. But some people have just lost all balance and blame him for absolutely everything. He's become a Mr Burns type hate figure.

Now you are free to take that position if you like. But others will feel differently. It doesn't mean that they are Levy supporters.

I've aired my frustrations at the fans who blame him for everything - especially when there's more than enough valid criticisms to go at him for.

What you and others do, it's to lump all criticism of him into that category when there are lots of fans who are more balanced in their criticism of him but it's easier for his defenders to lump everyone into the "unreasonable" category as it's easy to argue against.

Those defending and rationalizing everything he does have the same lack of balance as those who criticize everything he does.

If he is the person in charge, the person who is responsible for the hiring and firing of managers , the person who sets the budgets and can say yes or no on every signing, if he is still here after in your own words after five years of mistakes then of course he is at fault for everything. He shouldn't be here if he was a football manager he would have sacked himself hundred times over.

The balance has gone maybe but it's a lot of frustration that has built up. On field and off field have been a mess for a long time, ticket prices are insane and today if levy has his way we lose our greatest ever player 3 days before our new manager starts the season so if course emotion is running high.

If someone doesn't want to be accused of being a Levy supporter then maybe don't spend so much energy in this thread arguing with those who will openly oppose him. I don't even know your position on it beyond this post but the person he was arguing with spends so much time in here arguing over any anti Levy sentiment and then wonders why he gets accused of being a Levy fan...

I myself will openly tell you I think Levy and ENIC are a cancerous poison on this club who have gaslit a fanbase In to accepting their greed and lack of care for sporting success and tradition in the need to succeed but we never have. New stadium, new training ground , red sponsor, move to Stratford if you can, highest ticket prices, highest paid chairman all of it adds up and yet no trophies and still can't /won't compete with the clubs that were above us before. - that's my view and of course you're more than welcome to disagree but on today if all days I think those people who are already fed up with it can be excused for being that bit more emotional and annoyed.

Well yes, all online debates ultimately polarise the 2 camps into more extreme positions over time. That's natural.

But i certainly don't lump all criticism of him into one category. If i did then i would be disagreeing with nearly every post on this thread.

For what it's worth i think it's only a small section of fans who have become Levy extremists. But they are some of the most vocal ones on social media and on this forum.

That's where I will hold my hands up. When I initially responded about moaning, I thought I was in the Harry kane thread.

This is pretty much a perfect example of what i am saying. Completely understandable why you are frustrated and anti-Levy. But the level of your anger and how you are expressing it is just way OTT in my view.

Calling Levy a cancerous poison is just weird to me. He's done bad things and good things over the years in my eyes. Recently the bad has outweighed the good certainly, but not at a level to justify the amount of abuse he gets. People act like he's Mike Ashley and got us relegated, rather than failing to qualify for Europe for the first time in a decade.

Just all seems a bit weird to me. Especially when i talk to non-spurs mates who have a neutral/positive view of our ownership.

Strong language yes but I feel very strongly because were essentially In purgatory.

As an investment company it's their job to fatten the investment right? That's fine and if done correctly he can fatten his investment whilst us football fans get what we want too.

But I think it's clear that beyond aiming for champions league which is worth lots of money and exposure they have no intention of going any further unless by chance/luck.

Im glad you mentioned Ashley as I think they're similar, levy is just a smarter version and he should be as the earning potential of a Tottenham is far higher than that if Newcastle mostly due to location.

I keep seeing people say he has messed up time and time again, I see people say he won't fully back the manager etc but then call for balance. Why? The only real reason I see people wanting him here is because they're scared of state ownership which is ironic because he would take that state money in a heartbeat.

You can say he is great at the commercial aspect but in reality when I was a kid in the eighties we were about the fifth biggest team and that's pretty much where we are today. The difference between him and other big clubs is they used the TV money for glory which gets more fans, he uses it for infrastructure which fattens his investment.

I'm just very frustrated at this cycle that never ends.

They’re aren’tjust you guys and Levy “fans”. We aren’t his fans, we just don’t think he’s responsible for as much as you think he is and that some of the decisions he has to make are way harder than they seem.

Take this kane one. It’s clear that the fan base are split that it’s begrudgingly the right thing to do vs not. Yet it’s black and white to some that he’s the devil for accepting it and doing so at the wrong ish time. It’s clearer not that clear!
But he mostly fucks up any football decisions because he doesn't have proper football people around him..
All the on field decisions are based on making profit by money people.
He has no interest in challenging to win trophies as this would mean investing a decent amount.
We can invest a little bit more into improving the team and persuading Kane to stay but making profit is more important to the banking team at Spurs.

Oh bore off, you asked a question, I answered.
If we are playing the " who is the most loyal supporter" game I was at Plough Lane in 91 when we lost 5-1 so don't give me the high and mighty "just being part of supporting" shit.
I thought you were genuine and gave you the benefit of the doubt when others accused you of trolling, but wish I hadn't bothered engaging.......................................................
Who was you blaming then?

As i said, i understand the frustration. It's completely reasonable to be frustrated with the decision making process over the last few years. I have no problem with that or the argument that Levy deserves to go now.

I guess i just find it a bit weird/unreasonable how some people have taken that frustration to such an extreme level. I get being passionate about the club, and wanting to succeed. But the levels of anger i see are just out of all proportion to where we currently are as a club (IMO).

I view the ENIC ownership as having been way more positive than negative overall. I think their real problem is that they have been successful enough to raise the expectations of fans, but not successful enough to then meet those expectations.

When i talk to neutral mates about this, and show them some of the things people post about Levy, they are genuinely surprised. To most neutrals i speak to ENIC have done a pretty good job overall.

Now i don't want to whitewash or excuse the many fuckups over the last few years. If Levy wanted to step down then i'll be cheering alongside you. I just don't think the situation is nearly as bleak, or anger-worthy, as you and others do.

Were, not was……………
If you are going to try and be a smart arse, at least do it properly 😀
And if you really want to know, a defence with Mitchell Thomas at its heart, was probably the reason for the 5-1 at Plough Lane.

A very reasonable and fair post

For what it's worth I think he has picked an absolute diamond in Ange and I'll always be Spurs but I think we will have to agree to disagree about Levy/ENIC
