They’ve paid off 4 loans according to the submissions at companies house all in relation to the debt for the training ground. The loan was until 2025 but they’ve decided to pay it off early. Seems unlike them.

In order to have a better bargaining chip and make the club more favourable for investing or take over?

I'm just trying to be optimistic.. 😞

If we as a fan base aren’t going to make life difficult for him now, then when do we? When we lose our generational talent on a free next year?

The clown needs to go asap and he’s held us back on the pitch for a number of years. All this whilst charging the highest prices and reinvesting in off the pitch projects when we are a football club first.

I continue to fall more and more out of love with Daniel Levy’s property portfolio masquerading as a football team. It hurts and will continue too, but it got to the point that I didn’t even check the score against Leeds until the following day

I’m sure he is planning some smoke and mirrors to get fans back on side this summer, it won’t make any difference as he is part of our loosing culture. He is in fact the lasting common denominator in failures years and years of them, while others pay the price he is immune and able to continue stinking the place up.

We had multiple opportunities last season to do so & never really made much of an effort.
Just feels like a lost cause at this point :(

Whatever happens next season, it will always be Levy’s ‘last chance’ 🤦🏼‍♀️

i took this to this thread as it pertains to Joe Lewis and why DL has retained so much power in the business. with regards to your quote, it probably is the case for investors but not for Joe Lewis.

Then skipper Michael Dawson said: "I had never met him before, so it was nice to go over there and a great experience. What a really nice guy. And that yacht is unreal! But he’s just a normal guy. You could chat to him about anything. He tunes into all the games, he loves it. We just sat there chatting. He made us feel so welcome over there. It was relaxed. A lot of team-bonding together. It helps to be able to put a face to the person investing so much in this club he wants to be successful. He’s always watching. He knows what goes on. He would remember every game, every little thing."

Yes, from an investment perspective, all investments are equal but some are more equal than others because of the emotional investment (hence the bolded part). What is baffling is the "why" he hasn't taken more direct control of the situation. In trying to understand Joe's motivation, i ran across the following article.

After reading it, you have to come away with the thought he would not be happy with what is happening at the club but he is so private, any steps he takes to make it right will also be quite private. (intense, focussed, hates to lose, risk taker). Utlimately, this flies in the face of the "it's only an investment to him" doesn't pass muster with what little we do know of him, but we don't know enough predict when enough is enough. I still go back to the thought that VL is bending Dad's ear and JL will have to act post DOF & Mgr hiring if it turns out to be a repeat offense. the other alternative is that the deal, whatever it is already in place but locked down on a need to know.
Thanks for sharing super interesting mate

I think it’s because of the stadium.

I think partly the fans are in awe of it

Partly it’s too big and the surroundings too vast to easily organise a protest

It’s attracted way more ‘tourist’ fans

And there is an element of Stockholm syndrome that we do ‘just enough’ to keep the majority of the wolves 🐺 at bay.

If we were Lowe half of the table and/or going towards relegation like Everton were then I think even our flacid fan base would collectively grow a pair at that point.

Until then, we won’t make his life much more uncomfortable than it is now and he’s not selling up , resigning or being fired so we just have to hope he gets lucky with the next manager and DofF and we go on an upward trajectory again because otherwise it’ll just be more of the same.

I think if he’d not got Porro over the line end of jan then things could’ve turned more nasty but as it is most fans are just tired out by it all

And as soon as whatever manager is in place will come as a nice distraction, the spotlight is off Levy. The void created by the lack of anyone else to vent our anger at has turned many heads that I feel wouldn't otherwise be turned.

Or maybe many of us remember the dark days of the mid 90's, early 00's to be too upset by the current situation.

Either way, we should all want and demand more!!

What about the dark days of 1977 , not sure attached photo was a protest ,more of a show of support . I don't remember any really big protests against the directors that season. A lot of today's dissatisfaction driven by pundits "Harry has to move" etc , social media , childish taunts of "where's your trophies " and endless post mortems on TV and radio.

Take a look at the Simon Jordan podcast where Sherwood is his guest. Tells you all you need to know about Levy when you hear he got involved when got wind that Sherwood was going to play Kane ahead of Soldado.
He was worried about devaluing his £29M investment.

This folks is why he refuses to surrender control and will most likely hire a puppet as our next manager.

Such a sorry state of affairs that one man can hamper a football club so badly on the pitch. He continues to make horrendous mistakes.

The frustration is he was clearly the problem 15 years ago.
