Today has been a bad day for Levy - everywhere you go for you daily read, listen or watch and its Spurs being a laughing stock really. Not a good look and not great to listen to and ultimately not an optimistic outlook.

I've had a wobble in the last half an hour. First time I've thought about not doing it. Weirdly the missus is desperate for me to start playing golf for the networking.

Slot was going to pull me back in after this intermission of a season. They're gonna have to do something before renewal day - or genuinely extend the deadline.

Yep if Slot was in and i was ready to renew. Now I just cant justify it, tough.

We refused to pay the £7m extra for him. He wanted to come and certainly didn't "reject us".

You can surely see why you're getting the responses you are when you spin it that way?
Where next for Spurs after Slot shuns manager role

BBC headline. It’s not my “spin”. There isn’t much trust on this site. Giving the people the benefit of the doubt, especially by the admins, would allow for much broader debate.

Just out of curiosity, where do you get your info about what goes on behind the scenes? I see something along your lines is being reported by the Daily Mail (not going to provide a link to that click-bait rag).

Its an easy headline and MSM will always put a negative spin. WHta headline do you want?

"Spurs refuse to pay extra £5m of £15m compensation fee to prize Slot away from feyenoord so he will be staying in Holland and we look at who is next for Spurs"

People wont even bother reading all of that, let alone click.

You've had the benefit of the doubt. Your posts are attracting record numbers of negative reponses. We have systems in place that alert the mods/admins when something is downvoted that badly as it normally means someone is breaking the rules. Having to override the automatic banning system as while you're not breaking any rules on here, you certainly are attracting a lot of negative responses.

At this stage a lot of us are wondering if you're for real or just on a wind-up to troll people.

If you think Spurs are frustrating, golf is equally so.

I’ve been posting on here on and off for years now. If you seriously think I am anything other than a genuine spurs fan I despair.

Surely this community should be able to entertain opposing if unpopular opinions. I have not reacted to any abuse, nor have I tried to offend anyone. Many of the negative responses are by the same individuals, repeatedly giving each of my post a negative response. They could easily just ignore me.

Or let you know they disagree with you.

He is just a bloke after all. He looks done in.

I'm not a fan of the current situation, but I know what it's like to get treated like crap by clients on a much much much smaller scale - and I fleece them for loads of cash too. (Lol, jokes on me really, as I totally under-record to save my write-off figures, and probably under-fleece as a result).

I'm not motivated to work for those people, and although it doesn't translate overly well as an analogy, I kinda get how he feels in that picture. How he can motivate himself after this long to go into another manager search - something he himself should not be doing in any case - but then maybe that's the problem, if he hadn't been dealing with all of the footballing side for so long then maybe it wouldn't be like this and he'd be just in the background, counting the profits and we'd say "what a great chairman, let's the right people get on with the right stuff".

I don't like to see a human look that helpless.

Being honest not much of us knew alot about Slot, but since we declared interest in him and the more I see and read into him he was the perfect manager for us.

Gonna be another missed opportunity for this club like not going the extra mile on Mane & Wijnaldum. Will regret it for sure.

Absolutely! I don't mind the negative responses. But most of them hide behind their little emojis and don't offer an opinion.

My point is that repeated negative responses shouldn't lead the automatic withdrawal of the benefit of the doubt, which I thought what was the admin was suggesting.

I just cannot understand how Levy doesn't take a step back and think ... 'maybe I'm the problem here'. He's the CEO of a multi billion pound laughing stock.

Correction - he is the CEO and minority-owner of a multi billion pound laughing stock.

Truth is sadly in this day and age unless we get a shady bankroller to cook the books and spend, spend, spend we aren’t going to truly compete at the top.
Better say that to the fans then, and drop the prices to reflect the lack of ambition.

Agree. One of the reasons why he should've resigned long ago and got someone else in with energy and the know how to run a football club. It's not his fault that he isn't good at it, just like someone who is skilled at building a successful football team probably wouldn't be proficient at running a property development business. But his myopia in not realising he is deeply incompetent and driving the club into the ground is really troubling, and in turn speaks to the yes-men and women he must have around him.

We're at the point now where we'll have to send Gazza in with the fishing rods and Super T.
