What a legend. I will miss you, Antonio. Conte has made mistakes and pissed me right off at times but nobody before has had the balls to say it like it is.

It's bizarre that the board have apparently accepted that his criticism was aimed at the players, given the above.

Of course they have. Because they know nobody half decent will work for them anymore. Especially at this stage of the season. It could be a Nuno v2 fiasco there at the moment.

It's such a shame the Levy out chants died. Our fanbase is like the players in that regard. We've treated this ousting like the players treat a cup match.

At the moment the chat is on Conte leaving and if he’s to be sacked or leaves.

But ultimately the issue is at board level and whatever our views are on Conte, this is the main stumbling block for our progression.

Levy was meant to take a step back on Paratici being hired. He didn’t step away from the football side enough and Paratici’s current issues mean we likely have to start again.

I honestly wonder what it would actually take for Lewis to step in and start asking some serious questions of how the footballing side of things is being managed at board level. We are on the cusp of firing yet another manager with absolutely nothing to show for it. At what point does someone realise that Levy is a complete disaster as far as football matters are concerned? I guess Lewis doesn't really care as long as the money keeps rolling in. Baffles me really.

I think that’s our best hope, that the criticism of Levy from Conte and the growing unrest of the fanbase gets Lewis’ attention and he sidelines Levy from footballing decisions. Seems unlikely but here’s to hoping.

I doubt Lewis gives a toss. As long as the money keeps rolling in levy is his man. There's no real ambition for success. It's all an illusion to keep selling tickets to fund the machine

we don't win but profits keep rising. that to any ceo is just good business. he will only start asking if we start losing money.

Paul Barber spoke really well. Very impressive. If only we had someone like him! Oh hold on, we did.....
Levy has got a lot of praise and rightly so but this was down to recruitment off the pitch as well

I always felt that Levy always improved the club or learnt something with every appointment, but with the last two sackings, I cant say we have gone forward.

The point is, are we going backwards because of the other people in club have left?
Arneson - clearly had done some great recruitment to lay the foundations for us
Commoli - Right or wrongly, he did some good recruitment and had hired Ramos to progress the team, ultimately failed but he did deliver ENIC's only trophy, also went to Liverpool took a lot of staff with him
Inglethorpe - went on to be head of Liverpools academy
Hitchen - went to Liverpool, helped sign Suarez came back and now gone again
Johnson - signed Bale for us and Henderson for Liverpool
Moniz - Setup the academy and produced better technical footballers
Sherwood, Ferdinand & Ramsey - He actually fought for the youth players and these guys in different roles brought players through during that period
Paul Barber - Instrumental in early deals for the club in 00's, Now in charge at Brighton
Paul Mitchell - Went to Leipzig and now Monaco
McKenna - former U18 coach, highly regarded and went to Man Utd, became U18 coach before working with first team and assistant manager and now at Ipswich

Its incredible how big of a brain drain this club has had. The replacement have been good but sooner or later it has an effect and you lose your culture

It really feels that way in the last 4 years, the people that made Levy's ownership great whilst being efficient are no longer here and despite us spending more than before we are going backwards

Right fuck it, I want him gone.

I understood the business moves he made to get the stadium built and the rationale about investing in infrastructure so the club could generate the revenues required to compete but even I can’t defend the footballing decisions he has made over the last 24 months.

There is only one way I would want him to stay on in a day to day role and that is managing the commercial side with a Chinese wall between him and the footballing side. His executive chairmanship removed and a real CEO overseeing Levy and the Footballing side. That person does not (and probably should not) have be a footballing man, they need to be a serious operator, a businessman, skilled in relationship building, delegation and not afraid to identify and remove weakness.

The problem still remains that Levy is an owner and the Levy family stake is worth an awful lot of cheddar, despite his recent efforts to retard the clubs growth.

Your bafflement is understandable since the behaviour of really wealthy individuals does not normally correspond to the images portrayed in the media. In my job of putting together bank Syndicates for very large transactions to support major acquisitions or rescues I've met all sorts , extremely clever guys, arrogant bullies, lying cheats and superb leaders. Much to my shame I turned away an intro to Jim Ratcliffe at an early stage because I was too busy and he's amazing. So I certainly wasn't perfect.
Around the time of ENIC's early discussions I got a call from the bank's senior currency dealer whose dept. had done well from JL's activities that he had asked if we would consider funding a takeover bid someone he knew was considering. Suffice to say that the target was not up to snuff. In the course of this work I learned a great deal about JL and his nature. He has a big yacht and all the trappings but essentially a decent, surprisingly normal, bloke and importantly , a man of his word.
My understanding,, (which is all that it is), is that the acquisition of Spurs was Levy's idea and responsibility, and JL is backing him.

Do you really think JL really needs to make money from the sale of the team- he's a billionaire, he can do whatever he wants and definitely won't live for ever.
Do you really think that Daniel intents to sell his dream which has been 20 years of hard work in the the making for a few quid extra. Or he wants to take income from add-ons such as kart racing, concerts etc.for his own pocket. He doesn't need it
Imagine the best stadium in the world funding the development of a long term elite team.

Ok course he need's good support from the best as to the purchase and development of manager and players- easier said than done.
Levy needs strong and capable advisors - not prima donnas. He should also , in my unqualified opinion, inform Harry Kane that when he retires he can join the Board and ultimately if qualified become Manager - a la Arteta

Will this be his 15th manager in Enics rein since Hoddle in 2001? I've excluded mason from it. Harry was just under 4 years and Poch was 5.5 years so outside of them two it's nearly a manager every year.

Shambles, an absolute shambles
