I'm fine with that. At least we can definitively put to rest whether he should be given a chance or not. I hope it takes it with both hands and establishes himself!
I agree with that. We have Aurier, KWP and Foyth that can play there. The only way we need to sign someone else is if we sell one or two of those which won't happen. Ideal scenario for me is that KWP makes that his own position through performances. Game time will help with the mistakes and he seems pretty dynamic going forward. In the long run it would be nice to buy Aarons for that genuine competition and sell Aurier.

Good enough is still not good enough if we wanna challenge for the title - even against lesser sides. Way to weak to play for a top3 side. Just my onions.

Hope Aurier & Foyth gets fit soon enough.

Against lesser sides teams are likely to sit back so I don't see it as a massive problem, his weakness is his physicality but his end product is generally pretty good. Didn't he get a hat trick of assists against Bournemouth and he had a similar game against Leicester in the 5-4.

Fans are dreaming if they think we're gonna sign another RB when we have 3 recognised and 2 other who can play in that position.

Get use to it, and start backing him. Because no RB is coming in! We still have three! I know things can change, but can’t see it here.
Considering how we do business things can change indeed. Like selling Aurier to have only 2 right backs with no RB coming in.

He's actually made me less worried about the RB spot during the pre season friendlies. Thought he looked a bit apprehensive in the first pre season, not too keen to go forward that much (which is surely his biggest strength) whether it was marking Ronaldo or not quite trusting his fitness to get up and down or just a bit nervous due to the importance of having to impress i don't know, but certainly he's got better in each game and i'd say he's ready to start in the first XI now.

But fans will have to remember that he's starting out at an ability level similar to like Rose,Walker and Trippier did, so in order to develop as well as they did he needs to learn - and getting the fans backing will be crucial.

We needed 2 out and our targets went to United and signed a new deal (Aarons) so this is it for the season, there's not many quality fullbacks out there at the moment. Was always unlikely to happen over 1 season.

Sometimes all a player needs is an opportunity through injury for an extended run and they never look back. This could be that chance for KWP. I think he’ll take it.

Well he's earned his chance. Let's see if he takes it. I'm a bit worried though, some things he won't be able to overcome like a right winger crossing to the back post. In most cases he's just not going to be able to do much to win that header.

Make or break for kwp this season.
Looks like he will get a good run in the side at least until aurier is fit.
Really hope he makes the RB spot his own

I’ve given him time, but I can’t see him developing into anything more than a bang average fullback who’ll play for a midtabld side. He needs to put on weight, he’s not even quick, and his one on one attacking is non existent. He doesn’t do anything particularly well and I’m not seeing any glimpses that it will change. And before someone claims he’s a good passer, he stat patted 3 assists against a relegation bound side..

We'll just have to wait and see how well Bournemouth get on in the Championship this season then ...

He has a very similar skillset to Trippier imo.

But i'm quite happy for him to be given a chance. He doesn't look any worse than Trippier and i'm confident he will show some improvement now he will feature more.

I think he's suffered a few confidence problems and it's a bit of a dilemma for Poch because the only way you get him to regain it is by giving him a run in the side. He just needs a couple of league games where he absolutely bosses it and then I think he will kick on from there.

People are being harsh, TAA looked very shaky and suspect a couple of years ago.

His dribbling and ability to play little give and go's and link up play is actually really good. I think a lot of it is that he hasn't got the confidence at senior level yet, and of course some youngsters never can translate it into senior football (especially at the top level) and he wont get unlimited chances to finally show it etc, but there's a lot more to his game than he has shown at this point.

This was the bit i was waiting for him to start doing, and felt he did start trusting himself in the later friendlies. It won't be lost on anyone how many times Trippier got caught playing a square ball with his right foot that got intercepted, or indeed just played a pass backwards because he was unable to trust passing inside with his left. Walker Peters on the other hand CAN play those passes, and that is a major plus.

Pleased with Hercs info about no new RB. KWP is at the stage of his career where he needs a good run of games if he is to develop further.

Didn't see the game last night, but any time I've seen him play I've always thought he was decent. Looking forward to seeing more of him this coming season

Personally don't think he's anywhere near good enough defensively.

He’s just physically not strong enough. Dembele in the nou camp was the perfect example. Will also get out muscled on set pieces. He can’t beat a man offensively and now doesn’t even try. If he wasn’t an academy product he’d be getting absolutely slated. Nowhere near good enough.
