I can't be the only one who feels a little shite about the fact that we've binned two of our 3 most expensive signings ever today, in cut-price loan deals...

Perhaps it shows that spending mega bucks isn't always the way to go...

I am really delighted finally in a window we are moving our deadwoods
Only way we are getting new players in is by pushing players out.

Even if we don't bring any more players in this window, this bodes well for summer.

You should feel good about getting them off the wage bill. Glass half full and all that.

Still no deal confirmed by our site?

Our media team will have a busy evening it feels.

Dele, Ndombele and Lo Celso out would be decent business, feels like with Gil also on the way we would need one more player than just Betancur and Kulu. And if it is only a half year loan to test someone.

I have to say I'm really happy that he's specifically gone to Villarreal because I really want Pau Torres to replace Davies and based on the noises of the summer, the club do too and we'll be in an excellent position to figure out a compromise on Lo Celso one way and Torres another come the summer which help offset some costs.

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

Romero, Dier and Torres would be a tidy back 3. Yes, Dier...

It's less about their wages now, moreso the confirmation that Antonio Conte doesn't rate 100m+ worth of midfielder and that we bought two absolute duds. We've all known this for a while, but it's sinking in now and it feels, in a word, awful.

To make you feel better Barca spent a combined £240m on Coutinho and Dembele. A few years on and Coutinho is at Aston Villa and they’re literally begging clubs to take Dembele off their hands.

As Dave says above, perhaps spending mega bucks isn’t always the way to go. It may not turn out this way but I think the Kulu and Betancur signings will be shrewd ones.
