A team full of part-timers will never win anything.

As for Stones... Pep figured out a long time ago that he can't be trusted, but still Southgate persists. What's maddening is that we got a penalty because of a defender dicking about on the ball, and instead of seeing the danger Stones goes and does the exact same thing to let them back in the game.

Better and more stable options than Pickford out there. Always seems far too involved.

Allso worried that Southgate is blinded by what's new and shiny. Stupid to leave three of his best players on the bench too.

Seems even odder given Winks clearly looked more match fit than Kane for us in champions league final and would have made more of a difference having him then Kane for this match.

Winks is far more technically gifted than most of the English midfielders available at present too, especially in the box to box department.
Redknapp Neville and Carragher gushing with praise for Winks after the game. Only midfielder we have who can play like the Dutch . Moving the ball, play one twos etc . Need Foden next season .
Stones days are numbered he only played at World Cup because Joe Gomez was injured.
Kyle Walker looking past his best this season. TAA will take his place no doubt and Trip won’t make any more squads .

England will forever have problems at the top level until better midfielders are produced and utilized correctly. I'm not sure how Phil Foden does not make that team. Is he injured?

Foden only started four Premier League games last season so I'm not surprised that he hasn't been picked yet. He'll get a chance once he's played a few more games.

Such a shame that Shelvy's personality doesn't match his undoubted footballing talent.
Winks is good but he is just one guy. England has very few good midfielders.

Hopefully AWB soon will get his cap.

I blame England for the way Trippier, Kane and Alli played last season. They changed the way they play for England in the last world cup and they carried that into last season. Looking forward to seeing them back to normal next season. Poch will fix how Southgate messed up their form next season.

None of them had a pre-season last summer. They basically went straight into competitive club football. Having a proper break this time round will make a huge difference to form and fitness IMO.

You can blame the lack of pre-season, or tiredness because they didn't get a full break, but I don't think it's fair to blame Southgate. Poch will tell the players how he wants them to play, if they can't do that then it's on them, not Southgate.

Absolutely. A professional footballer shouldn't have a problem with playing two different styles depending on the team mates and setup around him.

Glad that Dele, Dier, Ndombele are skipping international duty, we can hopefully get some solid pre-season under their belts.
