Thank God that's over now we don't have to listen to the fucking constant moaning in here regarding potential injuries to our players.

Good result.
Decent enough performance and controlled the game, on the whole.

Another performance that was a bit patchy, but we've got so much attacking threat now and that's more than enough especially in the Qualifiers. Some good goals again and turned the game around well after going behind.

Not the best night for Spurs players I'd say. Kane, goal or not, was a bit subdued, Alli I thought was quite poor, and Rose continues to stroll through a game with plenty of careless moments.

Defensively we are still suspect and lack a real quality playmaker in midfield, but we really look very good going forward. It’s enjoyable watching England again.

Wouldn’t surprise me if that was a payback for some racist sledging (if that’s an appropriate word) from the opponent. It certainly looked malicious.

Sledging? Sledging is calling someone shit or making fun of them when you get past them, not when you spout all kinds of vile comments based on the colour of someone's skin. Call a spade a spade mate. It's racial abuse plain and simple. Sledging? Come off it

That's why he asked whether that's the appropriate term. Fucking hell.

I guess you have a look into the Aussie cricket sledging, it’s not “making fun”. It’s been pretty aggressive at times

Suppose it’s not racist when aimed at a Middle aged white English man though is it

Sounds like the players are finding some confidence but still not sure about the team ethic. So much focus has been on individual performances and appearances, and it's not the first time, I get the feeling it can put pressure on players to "show up", if you get what I mean?

They can try too hard - Hudson-Odoi and that Irish lad don't need all this pressure, they need to make the most of these relatively easy games to get used to being part of the team, probably more likely the squad, just tick boxes and settle in. The more the media and fans focus on them as individuals it damages the teams efforts to get on the same page, imo.

Hopefully, these two convincing wins haven't given them a false confidence as the opposition has been piss poor - no offence to either of the last two we played but they aren't exactly in the same bracket as the Spain, Italy, Belgium or France's we'll have to beat.

I just meant it in the sense of verbal abuse between sporting opponents. I wasn’t implying that racist abuse was the same as comical insults.

I'm not watching. Apparently Hudson-Odoi is a hybrid of Messi and Ronaldo. Is he playing that well or is it a case of the English media over hyping yet another youngster?
Apparently, and I’m not sure because ITV only said it about 14 times, he’s the youngest starter for England apart from Rooney.

Sorry but even though sledging/talking smack, whatever you want to call it can get pretty brutal at times, and sometimes cross the line even, for me racially abusing someone is so far over the line there's no debate. Or at least there shouldn't be. I'm actually baffled by how many people are downvoting my post for basically saying racism isnt an acceptable form of sledging

For me racial abuse is an absolute no go area when it comes to sledging or whatever. I just don't see how there's even a debate about that whatsoever.

And so I responded by answering that no it's not the acceptable term. I don't really see what your problem is.

My problem is your epic overreaction to something clearly not meant with intent to offend. Don't act like you don't understand.
