I'm convinced this site has been infiltrated by gooners and pikeys demanding we hold back from going that extra mile and having a real team with two more additions.
Fkinel , 13 years of no trophies....60 years no title...give yourselves a fucking wobble.
Dunno about Gooners, but deffo Pikeys. I actually saw someone swear down on a billy goat's eyebrows in then match thread yesterday

I’d agree if our squad didn’t have glaring holes in it at key positions. Just feels anti-climatic and a bit deflating
best starting XI since 2016 and strongest bench in forever, IMO. Id like another midfielder but thats not as important with the way Conte sets us up. Im very optimistic.

What's with the influx of people talking about the possibility that they'll die before seeing Spurs win the league. I find it very funny on so many levels.

LCB and RWB are still glaring holes in the squad to me, especially given the importance of those positions in Conte’s system. I agree CM is fine especially once Bissouma usurps Højberg in the strongest XI

I’ll be more optimistic if/when Gil is reintegrated into the match day squads, and Spence gets a chance to make RWB his own. I’m dubious either of those things will happen this season though

And look at City fans reaction when they couldn't get Kane last season and Pep refused to sign a lesser player to fill that void.
Yes I know City were in a much stronger place anyway, but the point still stands up.

Buying players to fill a void will just lead to struggling year in year out to get rid for the players we really want. We are experiencing this right now and to extend the numbers and timeframe of this happening would be stupid. Conte keeps saying how we've not been clever in the past, buying the wrong players. Got to trust they know what they are doing with this.
Hopefully the days of ”Stambouli” type signings etc are behind us.

they aren't all mercedes but when has that ever been the case for us? I dont share your concern at LCB. RWB is valid. Though I do think Royal is getting better.

Swear this needs a both like and dislike emoji..
But, in absence - yes, everything you said in 1st para.
And 2nd half of 2nd para (optimistic when Gill and spence get chances)
And no, not that dubious those things happen given the insane fixture list now till Dec. (and.. 5 subs)
Id add, I also think bit these factors mean white, devine (he didn't go on loan, right?) and a few other u23 players will get some time. And, never know, could make that sudden step up.
Overall, I was a 7/10
But movknv that up to an 8 as
- we didn't bottle buy Dan James
- didn't grab a "bargain" despite having no fit to the system (like most of the other last day of wkndow signings, VdV aside)
- because somehow our (online) fans seem in meltdown, despite best window in a while..
- more ithink on it, doing business early vs late is worth at least 1 player I think (Fulham better be the time we start playing though, as players not looked erm, their best, to date..)

Edit: I'd add, we acted like a proper, professional outlet. From the (insanely) under the radar biss deal, to the lack of play by play leaks (as much as I love em!)

I agree mate..
I'm not harping on about getting another ten in, nothing unrealistic.
I really believe we are close.
Just needed a RWB and another Ch... going forward I think we're ok.

Why not go that extra mile ...spin the dice.
Covid is done, we are filling the stadium, we have cash.
Even from non football events
Where is the stadium fucking naming rights if we need money.
All bollocks
Sure, I think we'd all have loved (and so now feel weirdly happy yet deflated) if we'd gone large on bastoni. (and yeah, didn't want to sell, didn't want to come, etc)
But.. Who would you have bought that went to a prem club?
For me, haaland (and, yes, no fing chance/he was close to 200m than 100m despite what the pr says..)
Carvalho (sp? Fulham lad at dippers)
Maybe paqueta
But for OUR team, I can't think of many others.
I also think it's clear the premier league tax was huge this summer. And, basic economics tells you that with a LOT of players with release clauses / low year contracts, biding time isnt the worst idea..
(edit: some herc level fat thumbs..)

No one can argue that we haven’t improved our squad a lot, but so have all of our rivals for the top four. The measure of the window is whether we have improved enough compared to Chelsea Arsenal and Man Utd to cement a top four spot because falling short might well hamper our chances of attracting the top quality players that Conte desires in future windows for his project.

That's why we play the games though, right?

I'd say Arsenal have improved - but I could not say they have improved more than we have.

Chelsea are still an open question - given what they have lost, they have not improved yet... time will tell if the late additions put them back where they were.

Man City have gotten better - but at the same time, they are leaking more goals than they did last season.

Liverpool - hard to say they are better.

Man United - ditto.

Lets see how all the squads fare over the next couple of months when all the contenders will be taxed with extra matches and travel.

Disappointment in that we were let to believe the club will inject £150M primarily for improvement in the playing staff this window. This has raised fans' expectation, when in fact it is simply PR. Don't get me wrong, it's still an effective transfer window, and we have improved our squad. Notwithstanding, West Ham and Forest have outspend us. And as Conte said, we are two players away from any serious challenge for honours. As was so often the case, it's so near and yet so far.

I come to this place sometimes to get away from the shitty normal life struggles. Yet thanks to some on you melts it makes it worse.

We all love our club we've had a fantastic transfer window and a brilliant start to the season.

Can we just be normal human beings and enjoy the ride or do we have to continue with this utter bullshit toxicity?

Get your shit together as there's more important things in life than football.

Having said that. COYFS

Potentially that's something a gooner or pikey would say as they would lack the intelligence to see the bigger picture, or maybe just the former!
