I don't get how some can't see we need a RWB upgrade and an upgrade on Dier...
Dier has improved, but is as stiff as my cock watching porn.... nowhere good enough and as the season pans out...you will all realise.

Fkinel how many more times...
We are not pissed because it's deadline fucking day, we're pissed because after deadline day we can't bring in the extra players we think we need that would elevate us more.
We are not sitting here waiting to sign someone on deadline fucking day, we're not that sad.
Anyway it's done

I will support Tottenham know matter what.
I was around when we got relegated, just a kid but remember, and went to every game in div 2 with my dad.
Nothing... nothing nothing will stop me loving or supporting spurs

But I want to see us win the fucking league before I fucking die....is that ok???????
We're not going to sign a title winning squad in one window. The last 2 windows have seen us moving in the right direction. We not Man City and we need to be clever with our signings. Calm down.

We've just had 2 players come straight into the first team and hit the ground running in Bentancur and Kulusevski.
Perisic the same.
Haaland has done ok.
If they're good enough they dont need any time.
Yeah but people like talking about Contes intense system. Not sure why.

Ok Danny.
We needed two more quality players not a fucking rebuild Einstein.

I've never understood why not signing anyone on deadline day is seen as a failure and something to meltdown about. Much rather we're organised and not scrabbling around last minute.

I’d agree if our squad didn’t have glaring holes in it at key positions. Just feels anti-climatic and a bit deflating

I'm convinced this site has been infiltrated by gooners and pikeys demanding we hold back from going that extra mile and having a real team with two more additions.
Fkinel , 13 years of no trophies....60 years no title...give yourselves a fucking wobble.

Well - lets be honest, we have been looking at a squad overhaul in the last 12 months:

Romero
Royal
Bentancur
Perisic
Deki

5 new starters.

Richarlison
Bissouma

2 starter-quality reserves

Sarr, Bryan, Udoggie, Spence - high potential players for squad continuity into the future.

There are 11 players signed in the last 12 months, that have the club on the right track, and have stabilized a rotting squad. We have extended deals with Son, Lloris, Davies - and will try to with Kane and Dier.

Would two more players have been better? Of course. But lets not pretend that we have not undergone a seamless (painful) rebuild, while continuing to compete at the top of the table.

I dont think any one team with exception of Man City, are happy with their squads and the transfers this summer. Every team has their weakness and dont think theyre all resolved with this transfer window... againw ith perhaps the exception of Man City.
And look at City fans reaction when they couldn't get Kane last season and Pep refused to sign a lesser player to fill that void.
Yes I know City were in a much stronger place anyway, but the point still stands up.

Buying players to fill a void will just lead to struggling year in year out to get rid for the players we really want. We are experiencing this right now and to extend the numbers and timeframe of this happening would be stupid. Conte keeps saying how we've not been clever in the past, buying the wrong players. Got to trust they know what they are doing with this.

I agree mate..
I'm not harping on about getting another ten in, nothing unrealistic.
I really believe we are close.
Just needed a RWB and another Ch... going forward I think we're ok.

Why not go that extra mile ...spin the dice.
Covid is done, we are filling the stadium, we have cash.
Even from non football events
Where is the stadium fucking naming rights if we need money.
All bollocks

Got to trust they know what they are doing with this.

I think the most important person to keep happy right now - Paratici.

I believe he has Spurs pointed in the right direction with personnel - both current and into the next several years. If he continues to oversee the football side of the club, I think we will be in good shape - even if Conte leaves. Even if Kane leaves.

No - if we were done, of if they thought we were done, with business, I think Paratici or Conte make a statement to that effect - typical PR fluff "We are happy with the squad and not looking to bring anyone else in, but if the right opportunity arises, we would look at it" type of statement. I think Conte was close to this a couple of times, but many supporters had already set their expectations at 1-2 new starting players.

Its seems pretty obvious we were continuing to actively look at certain positions - RW, and probably CB. And, so that creates the "disappointment", if you will, for people expecting an upgrade, and ultimately getting nothing. Its not the end of the world, supporters will eventually move on to the next thing.

(I am not one of those people who are disappointed, just pointing out how the club could have managed expectations better)
But we were still actively looking for the right deals throughout, so why say that? From the club's perspective I think you talk about the window to the fans after it is over, but as much as we all like to see how the sauce is made and know every detail, I don't think it is the clubs responsibility to keep us updated.

I fully agree with the last statement, but the key is RIGHT players, and not just any players, and just because we want doesn't mean that a solution exists NOW. To that end, the disappointment should be a shared disappointment we have with the club, and not against the club.

Bad comparison imo..
City fans have seen their trophy cabinet full the last decade
We would be as patient in those circumstances.
Sorry disagree

This is a great post that demonstrates the importance of patience. By City waiting they ARGUABLY got a younger MORE talented player for less money. Every year we get excited to jump at the targets we want at high prices. "Just pay for Traore" (at 50M and this year for pennies comparatively). I suspect we may see something similar with a Bastoni or the like. Every window opens up new opportunities. What was great about this window is we made the moves that had to be made early where all of the right criteria were met. It's hard not to be excited about this approach, and I suspect it will be much easier to fill the remaining gaps in the next window when some teams seasons have already been decided.

No one can argue that we haven’t improved our squad a lot, but so have all of our rivals for the top four. The measure of the window is whether we have improved enough compared to Chelsea Arsenal and Man Utd to cement a top four spot because falling short might well hamper our chances of attracting the top quality players that Conte desires in future windows for his project.
