Btw i don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet but POTL dismissed the crouch to l'pool rumour straight away when it first came out, 3rd of august i think. Is there any reason he might have different info or do people think it's just moved that quickly in so few days.

POTL info is good, same as archies.

BEN however is different gravy, always has been. He gets stuff early and he doesnt bullshit.

I think that was before the prostitution scandal hit the rags, things can change overnight.

spurs hav dissapointed us with poor league finishes recently and now that we got a place in the league that can finally take us to a higher status, the club is disappointing us in the transfer market.

i just hope its all a ploy by levy to reroute our interest thus leaving spurs to announce the capture of Özil, Falcao/Dzeko and Jovetic/Turan out of nowhere. <insert dr evil picture made to look like daniel levy here>

ill cry if we sign bellamy and its not on loan.

No, just one. Unfortunately because he's a RR I can't even put him on ignore. I do report the personal abuse from SS57 every now and then though. It's a pretty bad example to be setting.

Could you give an example of the personal abuse you've been receiving from me?

Would it involve my posting of Bellamy's actual appearances, as compared to your claims that he was a near-cripple?

Two years ago, Chris, I was steadfastly defending Dan against people like Rupstoh.

Why not turn it round the other way? Why is it verboten to point out that 'Dan' has been posting demonstrable crap? Some people might actually believe the stuff he was posting about Bellamy, for example. Is it member abuse to post the facts?

This.

It's the constant posting opinion as fact and then making up either stats or rumour to back himself up (most recently regarding Bellamy and our supposed wage budget percentage) which makes his posting on a level with that spursandbarca chap, which us fine when it's infrequent, but not in every god damn, mo'foing thread.

Crap...Crouch offers us so much in defending set plays that his overall contribution is beyond what he does in the oppositions half.

The Babel part is what depressed me most. He is just an awful, awful player.

I'm not a fan either. Looks threatening, but absolutely no end product whatsoever. I know that used to be said about Lennon but this is the real thing. Actually reminds me a bit of old Ronnie Rosenthal.

Great shame that Crouch may leave, and completely underwhelmed by Babel. He has never really impressed and doesn't really seem to have a position. Dan, Crouch's hold up play is excellent far better than any of our other strikers.

Redknapp did deny this recently but then...

It will be interesting if the Crouch haters who love to say 'I told you so' will use this to show that Crouch isn't very good when they spent most of last year saying he was one of Harry's untouchable favourites until he benched him and may well now sell him; like Keane.

I know he wins a lot of ball, but I do think he's poor at keeping hold of it. For all the headers he wins, the majority are just flicked on to no one. He also doesn't move into space to receive the ball, so often doesn't give himselfvtime to bring it under control.

His hold up play on his chest and with his feet is solid, but not in the air.

Mind you, after being spoilt with Kanoute and then Berbatov I guess most players' hold up play is going to pale in comparison.

That's what i thought it might be, something like that makes you reassess your priorities.

If leaves and it's a genuine attempt to work things out with the missus, i'll be disappointed but he'll have earn't some respect back that he's lost through this.

Does make me wonder though if crouchie had been trying to keep the scandal quiet for a week or so before it came out, hence why he was linked with 'pool before the papers got hold of it.

Is it member abuse to post the facts?

It is member abuse if you target the poster which is what you have consistently been doing whenever Dan has posted an opinion.

Where is the line between fact and opinion? If we all knew that, ITKs would all be revered.

As Chris has suggested perhaps it's better for all concerned if you put Dan on your Ignore list.

Either that or run the risk of going over the top again and losing your access.

I doubt anyone involved only found out about it when it appeared in the papers. If there are personal reasons for a move they'd be the same whether it was published or not. Can't see any reason why publication would change Crouch's circumstances.

How ironic is it that now we're in the CL we cannot sign
anyone half decent (so far, anyway!), whereas in the years
without CL we were signing the likes of Modric, Berbatov, Woodgate,
Krancjar, Gomes, Carrick, Davids, etc.

Weird, eh?

Doesn't explain why people think its acceptable to be rude to the fella. Were all spurs here.

I think the reason he gets a lot of peoples' backs up is because of how he came across after the sacking of Ramos & Poyet and Redknapp's appointment. He's slated pretty much everything Redknapp's done since taking over, even until this day, despite how much better we are since he took over. He puts a negative spin on anything Harry does.

Believe it or not, I actually admire him to a certain extent for not rising to a lot of personal criticism on here. For me, I don't agree with pretty much anything he posts, but that's not the problem because everyone has their own opinions. My problem is he posts opinions as facts, when they're not. He reels off all these European names, half of which are completely out of our league, then says how great they'd be for us, despite having no Prem experience for example, whilst using the same excuse for not signing someone he doesn't rate.

But yeah, to answer your question, it's the anti Harry agenda that pisses most people off. It comes across like he's just sticking up for his mate Poyet and all reason goes out the window. That's how I see it anyway.

I think i might cry. This transfer window is going to give me a nervous breakdown before it closes, totally underwhelmed by the latest ITK, we seem to really end up with the short straw.

Would rather keep Keane than have Bellend.
Would rather give O'hara a chance than buy Parker.
Would rather give Walker/Caulker a chance than get Richards.

Looks like were losing 3MP, buying Babel (not suited to the prem), Young (overrated), Huntelaar (don't feel he's right for the club) or Cardozo (i admit, i wouldn't mind him at the club, but not better than what we have)

No, Turan, Ozil or Dzeko.

I'm going to go down a pint of salt and go to bed. Hopefully when i wake up we'll have signed someone who will really improve our team, as i genuinely believe we are 1 or 2 really special signings away from being title contenders.

Couldn't agree more, was hoping this would be an exciting window for us CL and all that. Still here's hoping.

Can't or haven't? IMO CL = plan A, EL = plan B - no surprise that we'd be acting late in this window, & its not like we've actually missed out on much by waiting from what I can see.

Exactly.

Wonder if the same people who comment on all the 'yes, no more long ball' will still be happy when we lose away to Stoke and Blackburn with only Defoe and Unsuper Pav up front.

Last year, i think it was away to Blackburn where crouchie basically won us that game, scoring two?.. i think if he was to leave we'd be pretty poor away to clubs like that. As Spurs Bear said.

I couldn't believe Liverpool didn't bite Birmingham's hand off when they supposedly bid £8M for Babel last January.

This hatred for Huntelaar baffles me,

The 10 or so pages of arguments over Huntelaar in this thread baffle me.

Firstly, because spursandbarca's post was a load of horse shit and I posted as much but that got ignored and by then people had got the bit in their teeth and were acting as if we were signing him

Secondly, because there's a whole thread on Huntelaar where it all should have gone.

Take point two as a hint.

Agreed. Crouch over Pav every day of the week for me.
