We play them on the 28th of August.

Its our 3rd game of the season, so could be just to see Wigan rather than anything transfer wise

Most probable explanation......or possibly Hugo Rodagella (sp) which could be one of the names given to Scutch.

Rodallega was on the "not" list. However, N'Zogbia wasn't so one could theoretically be him. As DoublePivot says above, I'd be surprised that we'd send our chief scout to check out N'Zogbia in a friendly. We did scout Bassong in a Newcastle pre-season game last summer, but he'd only been in the prem for one season.

Had another thought, I wouldn't be surprised if we were scouting Rodallega for a separate bid unrelated to the ITK. I could see him as someone Harry might be interested in.

Just said on SSN he's left. N'Zogbia and Figueroa went off at H/T... one of those maybe?

Figgy, an attacking left back, with bale, a hard working left winger is tasty.
Zoggy, a hard working left winger, with bale, an attacking left back is also tasty.

Both very good players who's arrival would a) allow modric to go central more often and b) would provide a combination with bale that's good in both directions, something Bale/ Modric combo doesn't offer as, beautifully though they link, bale gets no protection that way. I think whether we sign a lw or lb, ekotto will end up second fiddle to someone.

Did N'Zogbia (sp) play RW for Wigan last year too?

Competition for Lennon if Bentley leaves?

I think N'Zog, or a similar left sided winger with PL experience is a must going in to a season where we could potentially(and hopefully) be playing 50+ games.

Yes he primarily played on the right side. Switched over a couple of times, but was better on the right.

Like Parker and Bellamy (and Makoun come to that) I like NZogbia and would have liked us to sign him in previous years but for me, it's another boat that's kind of sailed.

If we couldn't get Hleb or Turan and it was him or nothing I wouldn't be gutted I just don't think he's going to be an improvement on what we have really.

Figueroa seems pretty good but I can't say I've seen enough of him to be certain though.
