Would you (or any other poster here who is so anti Muntari) please elaborate on why would he be a bad signing. Do tell us.

Ok. I really don't see what he would bring to the table, at all. He isn't a ball playing midfielder, in fact he actually has a terrible first touch and his passing is atrocious. He also isn't a pressing midfielder, and isn't the most mobile. Where we struggle is ball retention against the better sides, where you need players like Luka, and someone like Muntari is not going to provide that, nor is he likely to unlock a door when we are playing a team that has parked the bus.

If we sign him, he will get my 110% support, but I really, really hope we don't.

I'll do it for him. Muntari s bad tempered, very wasteful in possession, clumsy in the tackle, generally lacking in any footballing intelligence. He is strong, fast(ish) and not much else.

So if true it looks like Fab is dead

It would certainly look like it, i can only see us signing 1 forward with Keane the only one looking to be moving on of our forwards. I can only speculate that levy has gotten fed up of trying to to negotiate with Sevilla, although from the sounds of it we came very close to meeting their valuation.

It will be interesting to see what forward we land in the next couple of days, assuming Keane does move on, but to put it in perspective, i'd take any of Fabiano, Rossi, Suarez, Huntelaar over Keane right now. Also, we didn't even have Keane for the last half a season, so anyone we bring in will be adding goals that weren't there before.

I hope the Muntari news is a smokescreen personally, would rather have Diarra or Parker. But nevertheless will get behind Harry and the players as always, who ever is here wednesday morning.

Yer im a bit bemused by this hatred for Muntari
Muntari isn't that good or bad...but when they told me Harry's reunion, and a french, i kinda expected Diarra...
Think he wud be better for us.
IMO I believe Jenas and/or Young is better than Muntari...But harry knows best

Sounds like you are describing Zokora, I do agree with you though, as desperate as I am to sign someone I wont be that excited if DL ties this deal up.

I haven't seen him too much but from what I've heard he's really gone off the boil at Inter, to the extent that he barely gets a game for them (or Ghana) anymore. Think he was ok at first but has been increasingly poor. I've seen him come on as a late sub a couple times for Inter and been absolutely terrible, giving the ball away or bad fouls with every touch.

I am strongly against the signing of Muntari. I have no idea wether he'd be a success here or not, but that's got nothing to do with it.......If we sell Jenas all we'd be doing is replacing one player who divides opinion with another. Groundhog Day.

You described Zokora. Are we resigning him?

I was really happy that we sold Zokora, but I would MUCH rather re-sign him than sign Muntari.
