Gutted. Cross bat shots in these conditions is a disgrace.
Brought this on ourselves.

Edit - Saying that terrible third day pitch. But same for both teams

If you prepare a turning wicket and pin your hopes on winning the toss, you deserve everything you get.
But they lost the toss in both tests and won both tests. It wasn't even a rank turner, Australia just played cross batted shots and relied on the sweep shot which was the undoing of them.

maybe it's because he's a spinner, but he doesn't get enough credit when people are talking about the best all-rounders in the game at the moment.

all 3 parts of his game are top drawer, particularly at home.
He's very good in all formats of international cricket.
Also, watch out for Axar Patel. His batting has improved beyond recognition. His knock in our first innings possbly turned the Test in our favour.

2nd test starting tonight NZ v England and was just browsing some stats. Here's a mad one. The England player with the second highest amount of innings behing Alastair Cook? James Anderson. Crazy how long his career has been to have hit those heights with the bat. Stuart Broad moves level with Alec Stewart in fourth place if he bats twice this weekend too.

Here's more stats for you.

James Anderson now is the top ranked Test bowler. 40 years old and still going strong.

Yeh I saw that. Perfect year for him really at his age with a winter series in New Zealand with all their green tops followed by an Ashes series earlier in the year than usual. Fully expect him to have overtaken Warne for Test wickets taken by the end of the summer.
