After checking the weather forecast, I cut my losses today and decided not to travel down to Lords from Dorset (£120 rtn on the train), despite having a ticket.

If they don't bowl another ball today I get a 50% refund (£37.50).

My last 3 visits to Lords, over 5 years, have all been rain affected, whereas five consecutive years travelling up to Edgbaston, including this year's 1st Ashes Test, not a drop of rain has fallen.
Pitch inspection due, but I am sure the potential refund on ticket sales has got nothing to do with it!

I feel we’re allowing Smith too many easy singles on the leg side. But then again.......

For one it ensures an LBW should he (ever) miss a straight one while trying to play to leg because he comes so far across.

But also, let him have singles. It gets someone on strike who isn't as good as Smith.

Go Joe!

Over his test match career, Of the most common methods of dismissal, statistically, LBW is the least likely.

Roooooooooot :D
