Stokes finished with 2 runs off of 50 balls. That is the kind of cricket I’ve been looking for.

Silenced the drunks and blunted the Aussie attack.

I’ve got my cricket back.

Aggers: "well played skip"
Root walking past to pavillion: "well that will give you something positive to talk about".

F*** off Joe - far too early to give any lip back and any runs you get will mean jack shit if we don't win.

If England see out the new ball tomorrow without any casualties, who knows what will happen?

Crazy to think the ECB are happy to allow the best form of cricket to just die like this.

Quality Nasser Hussain batting today, Stokes is channelling his inner Collingwood. You never know, they could be still going Monday ...

Been here before, it's the hope that kills you, I hope I'm wrong, obviously.

Fair play, I wanted a bit of fight, and that's what they did. No good for just a couple of sessions tho, gotta keep it going tomorrow.

At least we are going out with a bit of fight. The fact tomorrow is a day 4 pitch as opposed to day 5 will help, but you can’t escape the fact that very few teams in the history of Test Cricket have chased down over 350 to win.

Plus after Root and Stokes I don’t think the other batsmen have the patience to bat the way they did today.

And that’s the problem, players throwing their toys out of the pram if they don’t get to put the gloves on along with silly little comments here and there....all he had to say was that they battled back well, bring on tomorrow, not “that’ll give you something positive to talk about”.
It’s all so negative and cringeworthy!

Wow. This last 10 pages has been more entertaining than the 67 all out.

And @SargeantMeatCurtains

Two things, I’ve been going to Test and ODI’s for 20 years, been to every test ground in England and a couple of away trips, the England cricket fans have never booed the team off, no idea what you are talking about there, even Botham in 81 only got the silent treatment from the members at Lords.

And a second bit of trivia. Joe Root’s best mate...is Gary Ballance.

Now buckle up and enjoy the hype overnight while we get bowled out before lunch tomorrow.

Root needs to be sacked, he won’t resign, but I don’t think there’s an obvious candidate, so he’ll probably remain in the job by default. Bairstow is one of the worst gloveman at international level I have ever seen and shouldn’t be anywhere near the position when we have an absolute gun waiting in the wings like Foakes.
