Is anyone else not concerned about injuries this close to the season starting, This Audi cup seems pointless this close to the season.
Lot's of teams are doing it. I think this will be pretty good prep for United and hopefully help us hit the ground running on Sat
I'm not happy with us playing this game so close to the man utd game, bearing in mind pochettino's comments at the end of the season. Seems to me the manager's had the rug pulled from under him here- here's hoping that the same doesn't happen re vital transfers too or were going to end up with a seriously pissed off manager.Lot's of teams are doing it. Think he was in the US squad too so wouldn't read much into it. The Sun are reporting that he's back in full training however.Lloris in the squad, could be good news?
Thought Oduwa might get a chance, but it's possible that his injury on Saturday affected that. OS said today that his scan was clear, but that he'd be resting, I'm guessing concussion, and wanting to be careful. No coulthirst, oduwa and milos?
Guess we'll see some experimentation up front. Friendlies are the place to do it.
Unfortunate squad, IMO. 1 striker, not really any youth, 2 games in 2 days then 2 days off before the first game of the season. No clue why we didnt bring some more youth to keep the first teamers fresh. Setting ourselves up for tired legs and failure on Satuday, IMO.
Why Poch doesnt rate Veljkovic is beyond me. Probably our most ready youth player, IMO. Winks and Onomah looked good but still very raw to me in the post season friendlies and mls game. Veljkovic looked very competent and very mature in the U20's, along with CCV by the way. But oh well. Not the first time I've disagreed with Poch's opinions on players and it certainly wont be the last.
No clue why Coulthrist wasnt named in the squad seeing as how we only brought along Kane and Chadli as our strike options when they are both probably going to be in the team vs United. I dont know. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like a pretty darn incompetent decision to leave Shaq off. It's understandable that Oduwa was left off after what happened in the youth friendly this weekend.
