I like the Europa League so I might be biased but after this game it's not back on until February. How about we qualify for the last 16 and come February we can see where we stand in the league and decide from there?

Agree with your sentiments but Europa has one more round than Champs Lge so is last 32 in Feb.
Do think we should try to qualify though; we've proved we're not good enough yet so more European competition is a good thing.
Yes top 4 is important but mainly for the money; didn't seem to inspire the players who bang on about how important Champs Lge football is, then don't even turn up when we get there.

I suspect there's going to be a LOT of moaning, more than the usual, when the team is announced.

That's a guarantee. Some will be pissed we are fielding a strong team for all the ramififcations - qualifying for EL. While others will be grating at the lack of first teamers and throwing a chance at a cup away.

In fact, we might as well not even bother with the game - everyones pretty much already incensed one way or the other...

if we throw this game then nothing short of winning the league will be acceptable recompense, finishing amongst the top 3 losers isn't an honour. no one knows where we'll be when the europa starts up again, we might be well off the pace in the league and then what do we have left to play for, maybe the fa cup(if we haven't thrown that as well), great.
Getting back into the CL is. It really is.

If we take it seriously we can win it. The "strongest" teams are: Shakhtar Donetsk, Shalke, Fiorentina, Ajax, Roma, Zenit, MU. From UCL: Sevilla/Lyon and Napoli/Benfica/Besiktas.

get back into the cl to do what? we're not going to win it. it saddens me that the chance of seeing us get pummelled by one of the spanish sides is what some spurs fans strive for, rather than wanting to see us actually win something. i honestly couldn't give two fucks about this overrated bag of shit competition but ironically i really hope we win on wednesday.

Thought you were smarter than that, Blake.

You're assuming Poch doesn't want to get into the Europa, but I suspect he does, so I think his team will show changes, but it's more likely to be a mixture of 1st choice & others. Certainly Toby needs game time if he's going to be available for MU on Sun,
