BBC Live Text
16:46 Substitution - Lennon for Eriksen
16:41 GOAL - Sunderland 2-2 Tottenham - Harry Kane (og) (82 mins)

Spurs only have themselves to blame.
After wasting a host of good possession and decent chances, Etienne Capoue gives away a needless free-kick for a push on Jordi Gomez. Gomez picks himself up, whips in a wicked cross which Vlad Chiriches clears only as far as team-mate Harry Kane.
The ball cannons off the young striker and into his own net.
16:38 Substitution - Kane for Adebayor
16:30 Our first change - debut for Stambouli, replaces Chadli.
16:20 Yellow Card Dier for foul on Alvarez
16:06 GOAL - Sunderland 1-2 Tottenham - Christian Eriksen
Sunderland are stretched as soon as Lee Cattermole slips to allow Emmanuel Adebayor to race to the edge of the box.
The Togo striker slips the ball left to Nacer Chadli whose low cross is finally stabbed in by Christian Eriksen as Sunderland scramble back but fail to make a decisive clearance.
Half Time Sunderland 1-1 Spurs
15:04 GOAL - Sunderland 1-1 Tottenham - Adam Johnson (4 mins)
Straight back in it! And it is a beauty from Adam Johnson.
The Sunderland winger jags in off the left flanks, drops his shoulder, beats one man, then another and curls his strike into the bottom corner.
15:03: GOAL - Sunderland 0-1 Tottenham - Nacer Chadli (2 mins)
Spurs have been pushing and they get the early goal they have been after with Nacer Chadli sweeping home after Emmanuel Adebayor's shot was parried.

I don't care if we lose, just so long as Mopo looks as dashing as ever and says philosophy a lot, it's all good.

Fuck that! He could look like a hobo's ass, but I wouldn't care as long as we win!!

Totally unsure how we will play. The 'philosophy' looked there for QPR, but not for Liverpool.

I think it will be one of those seasons where we will have some fantastic games and some really poor ones and we will never quite know which Spurs will turn up.

Fingers crossed for a good performance and win today.

This is a good test of our metal

We had a major set back last time out and there's been time off in between because of the internationals

These are the type of tough away games that any top 5 CL hopefully has to be winning but as we've seen in the past its the type of tricky away game any top team can drop points in too (Man city not so long ago for example)

Last time I remember us playing there we got a rather fortunate win under AVB and I'd happily take more of the same today

After the Liverpool game a win is all that matters, I don't care if we get played of the park as long as we get that moral boosting win that will be the difference between a pretty great start to the season with 9 points out of 12 (albeit from games we should win) and an average at best start if we drop points today

A win will give us something to build on

My recollection is we won easy last season?
The Liverpool game was disappointing. MoPo sat on his hands and we capitulated. After the game he complimented the team which I found odd.
I don't want another game where we are losing and a striker is sitting on the bench.

Must win but we really do need to see more of the pressing that we saw against QPR. The start against pool was pathetic. We basically sat off and let them do as they pleased. It shouldn't matter who or where we play we should be all over teams and trying to impose our game on them.

If we do that the fans will be happier and the results will come.

I remember us getting into a good 2 goal lead by outplaying them and then had to endure a torrid time as we hung on and relied on a poor decision from the ref to deny them a goal or a penalty which would have leveled the game

I remember us starting strong and then turning to shit and ending up hanging on

Maybe I am thinking of the previous season - was last year where we won 2-1 after an OG by John O'Shea?

Last season we went a goal behind, by john o Shea, he then got an own goal to level things up and paulinho got the winner.

I'm just intrigued as to whether Fazio and Stambouli are going to start. Stambouli for Bentaleb, then who for Fazio?

After the way TS kept publicly slating his own players I assume Poch's harsh words are kept behind closed doors. We need the whole squad together if we are going to make a mark

I think we will win with a performance which would be a standard between when we played QPR and Liverpool. Still not quite good enough but better than any last season.

Just want to see a good game from Lamela. That's the most important thing for me after the result.
